Bournemouth 2 - 1 Rushden & Diamonds

Fame at last
No I'm not the one the in the bottom left in fact I''m the one circled. This game happened earlier this year (2003) and it was my first league game back at the court since the Play-off final. I picked this game out because of 2 reasons 1) because I was in the photo and 2) because Warren Feeney deserved a mension on my website.
The game didnt begin how I would have liked, they scored from a corner within two minutes and I heard the familiar muttering in the crowd "same old Bournemouth always conceding from corners". To be honest we struggled to get through the half time without conceding another, but we did.
The second half didnt start any better, we just didnt seem like getting anything from this and this day seemed a waste of time and money. I did still have some faith as we had come back from 1-0 down at home so many times before. After around 20 mins of nothing we threw on Warren Feeney who had been out for a lot of last season and had strugled to make a comeback into the side. This substitution became the turning point of the match.
69 mins and Feeney recieves the ball turns, shoots, the ball hits the inside of the post and creeps over the line. Class Finish. 71 mins the ball is headed on from a corner Feeney runs in and Nods his second putting the cherries in the lead. Class Finish. We managed to hang on for the remainder of the game and Feeney had propelled us to 7th in the table.
