Info on Jim Steinman's Latest Project
Jim Steinman has written the music for, and co-directed
a new theatrical, set to debut this autumn/winter. The description for
nederlander.com is as follows:
"Michael Crawford stars in this new musical by Jim Steinman and Michael Kunze, based on a film by Roman Polanski. It is a hot-wired fairytale in which an aristocratic, charismatic vampire, Count von Krolock, jousts with a young passionate student, Alfred, to win the body and soul of a beautiful eighteen year old virgin, Sarah, who only knows that she wants....more!!! News on Bat Out Of Hell II Re-Issue
Many of you may remember the news a few months ago of a
possible 2-CD re-issue of the fantastic 'Bat Out Of Hell 2'. The
news later arrived that it'd been put on hold/cancelled. However, great
news from mlukfc.com tells us that the
release IS still on!! It is not scheduled for a June 25th 2002 release.
More news about the bonus tracks, etc. when available!!

Heart Foundation Benefit Changes
It seems the Larry King Heart
Foundation Benefit gig in Los Angeles, USA, has now been re-scheduled. The
gig was originally set for June 10th 2002 but the date - starring Meat
Loaf - has been put back to December 2002. More news when it arrives.

Tom Brislin not playing Summer Tour?
*This is not 100% confirmed* ... It seems Tom from the
Neverland Express may not be playing keys on this summer tour. Mark
Alexander is expected to be the replacement and is bound to do a great
job, as he proved on the Night Of The Proms tour. It also seems Ray
Andersen's replacement (see old news) will be John Golden (playing various
other instruments)

As the US cinema release of The Salton Sea draws nearer
- 17th May (near Star Wars - "Attack Of The Clones" release!) -

Old Comments From Bob Harris on Meat!
While searching around the BBC.co.uk
website I found this very interesting Meaty snippet! Bob Harris - the
presenter of the BBC's music show many years ago had been taking part in
an interview, looking back at the history of the show.
The following part-question from a viewer was asked:
Viewers Question: Is there one particular performance on Whistle Test which stands out for you?
Bob Harris: "The performance that's probably the most dynamic was when Meat Loaf was in the studio in 1978. And he did Paradise by the Dashboard Light. It was an absolutely fantastic performance - so high energy. I was three yards away, and in those days, he weighed about 18 stone, with those frilly shirts he used to wear!"

I know it's not the most exciting
news ever, but the Mail on Sunday (UK) has an advert for a company called
Bookings Direct & they now have Meat Loaf sales for Hyde Park on Wed.
July 24th. The advert is with Bryan Adams, Supertramp & Paul Weller,
all of whom are playing Hyde Park "Route of Kings" in July. Also
has a little Meaty pic :-D. I may be able to get a scan later in the week.
