A Strange tale by Michael Fowler

I have not told this story to many people. It is a strange story, and not everyone would believe it.

I was standing in a dark, creepy forest. I felt lonely, and I could hear frightening noises. There were lots of autumn leaves on the ground, all different colours, Red, Yellow, Brown and Golden. There seemed very few living creatures, then I looked up.

I could see a tall thin creature, which was brown and very hairy. It had two floppy ears, but you could not see them very well, hidden in the numerous layers of hair. It also had two tusks and a pink nose.
The next thing I knew it was charging straight towards me!

I decided to run for it. Terrified out of my wits at the creature that was chasing me. I ran as fast as I could, still, it was gaining on me. Soon, it was right behind me, I could feel it's breath on the back of my neck,
then I tripped on something and as soon as I hit the floor, I woke up.

I sat upright, trying to calm down when I realised the forest in my dream seemed vaguely familiar, I got out of bed, and looked out of the window. There was the exact same forest! Feeling puzzled I looked closer out of the window, and saw an enormous hairy creature, just like in the dream! I became even more puzzled than before when it started coming towards me...

I jumped down the stairs and picked up the receiver to ring the Zoo. I was about to dial the last number on the phone when I thought what might happen to it if other people know. They might try to hunt and kill it.

I put the phone down and decided to keep it my own secret.
