Here are some practical details for new pupils...
Our school is arranged into three reception/Year 1 classes and two year 2 classes. The Nursery has five morning and five afternoon sessions.
School times The school times are: -
8:55-11:55 a.m.
-
1:00-3:00 p.m.
Nursery times are slightly different:-
9:00-11:30 a.m.
-
12:35-3:05 p.m.
We ask that children arrive punctually for each session in order that registers can be completed on time.
School uniform
School uniform is worn by the majority of children. Our school colours are navy blue and grey. The uniform is simple. It consists of a navy sweatshirt or jumper and a white or blue shirt. The sweatshirts with the school logo can be bought from the Junior School. We recommend that these be worn with black, navy or grey trousers or skirts. In the summer blue and white dresses in stripes or checks are preferred for girls. It is helpful if all garments are clearly named.
A PE kit of plimsolls, T-shirt and shorts contained in a named cloth bag should be kept in school during the week. In addition, trainers may be required for outdoor sports activities.
Extremes of fashion, in clothing, footwear, accessories or hairstyles, should be avoided.
It is recommended that no jewellery be worn to school. Where earrings are worn only small sleepers or studs are acceptable for safety reasons.
The school declines any responsibility for items of jewellery, watches or other personal possessions lost on school premises.
Long hair should be kept tied back where possible.
School meals
Our school lunches are cooked on the premises and are reasonably priced. Vegetarians are catered for.
Meals can be paid for either termly or weekly. Weekly payments should be made in the school office on Monday mornings, cheques payable to Devon County Council.
Provision is made for children bringing a packed lunch. While the content of such a lunch is entirely up to parents, we would ask that a cup be provided for drinks. Please do not include fizzy drinks or glass bottles.
Squash or milk, with biscuits, can be purchased for breaks at playtime.
