How to apply to Milber

LATEST NEWS!

At Milber computers are taken seriously.

We believe that computer software - and especially the resources of the Internet - offer a tremendously exciting, stimulating extension to traditional teaching methods, which can be of incalculable value in infant education.

And so we are trying to develop our ICT standards as ambitiously as possible.

  • We believe we were the first Devon infant school to have its own website.
  • Inside the school, we have evolved `Milbernet' - details
  • We are beginning to develop our own teaching software, to help small children as they learn to read and count by providing enjoyable experiences which will help to reinforce the words and rules they are learning.

We are making four of our games available on this site. Each of them is between 999 Kb and 1.26 Mb in size (so they transfer quite conveniently on a standard floppy, and will download quite quickly). If you can use them, please feel free to download them with our compliments.

You will need to download two files for each game - just click a blue button, and the corresponding red button, in the panel on the right. This will give you an .EXE file and an .ILM one. Put both files in the same folder on your hard drive, double-click on the .EXE one - and away you go. You can simply delete the files later without leaving anything behind.

To the teaches those two words to new readers.

I, a, Mum introduces these three words and fosters familiarity with their appearance and use.

Go is all about the use of the word `go'.

Counting helps encourage facility with the numbers 1-10.

We'll be uploading more games and educational software occasionally in future, so do check back!
