| Plot The plot is a classic type of plot - 9 gems; each of them containing power - you must go and collect 'em all before the baddie does and gets all-powerful. You must collect 3 gems in this 'chapter', in 3 environments - grass, desert and ice. Sound The sound is pretty nice. There's also a few new sounds which make you feel at home through the intro :). Difficulty The monsters are easy. Damn easy. The quests aren't that hard, either. Weapons There's a new knife. Magic None. Size It's pretty small, but make sure you wonder around the place for potions. Graphics Hellyeah! There's a new Dink - he looks great, his attack sequence is amazing, but he walks .. weird :). Bugs There's one bug where a screen doesn't line up and allows you to 'jump' between the ice and land; but it's very useful to get back and forth so it doesn't really matter :). The last frame on the attack upwards sequence seems to 'jump'. The only major problem (and this is major) is that the variable that stores whether or not you got the key gets reset if you kill the goblin. Because of this I had to wonder around so much thinking I had to find another key :). Luckily, using my l33t skills, I pinpointed the problem and ha><0red my way out. Specials There's a LOT of potions lying around, and this could be why it's so easy. The secret system rocks: when you find a secret it ups the count and you can see how many you have found by pressing esc. Pros: The new Dink's attack looks amazing, classic story Cons: Quests and enemies can get boring. I thought I was gonna find NINE gems, damnit! :) Bottomline: Overall it's pretty fun. It's worth a download, and whatever you do, don't kill the goblin after getting the key! :) Overall score: 8 out of 10. Download: Local, From Dink Network. Related Links: Author's webpage [dead?] |
