About The Living Room

The Living Room was founded in 2000 and is a day care rehabilitation centre offering a free service incorporating structured programmes for anyone experiencing difficulties related to alcohol, drugs, prescribed or illicit, or any other dependency, such as eating disorders, relationship and gambling. Clients often present multiple problems and the service is flexible and responsive to such complex needs.

The living room is a non-profit making charity offering a FREE service to assist people who are experiencing difficulties related to Alcohol or Drugs, illicit or prescribed, or any other dependency, such as eating disorders, gambling etc.

We offer FREE Non - Residential Rehabilitation programmes

The programmes focus on the whole person - The physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects.

We offer group therapy, a drop in and one-to-one counselling by qualified counsellors. Information relating to other local agencies is also available.

Support groups are available for family and friends.

We are Welcoming
The Living Room offers a warm, friendly and confidential environment with a sense of belonging.

Education and Employment
As part of the ongoing rehabilitation for clients, we offer links to colleges and volunteer work, which could result in a new career for a new future.

The Living Room makes no value judgements on an individual's personal position, status or background.

As well as group support, The Living Room offers one to one counselling and support by trained counsellors.

The Living Room aims to provide a unique service for individual needs, in helping and maintaining support to create a fuller involvement in life.

Sense of Belonging
The Living Room aims to provide personal and moral support through trained staff who specialise in the treatment of addiction problems.

Although the work of The Living Room is underpinned by its Christian foundation, full respect is afforded for the individual beliefs of staff and clients and Christianity is not imposed on a client.

The service provided by The Living Room is totally FREE to clients and their families and friends.

The project is partly supported by Churches Together in Stevenage and also relies on grants, community partnerships and charitable giving.

To enable us to continue our valuable work, we rely on gifts and bequests from individuals and organisations who want to assist us.
