A.31 road works and course closure

As from today road works on the A.31 will be in place for at least 12 wks and will be 600mtrs in length. They commence going west from the A.31/A.325 (Coxbridge Roundabout) and effect both sides of the dual carriageway. The road will closed down to a single carriageway during works to remove the central reservation and widen the road to enable vehicles to visit a new business park being created on the north side. I am assured by the contractors that they are not installing Traffic lights or a roundabout at this time?.

The courses effected are as follows: H20/8--H25/8--H30/8--H50/8--H100/8A--H100/8B and H100/9. The popular H10/8 is not effected, and some promoters may reduce '25s' to a 10 rather than cancel. Both the Hounslow 100 and the Westerley 100 will be on re-designed courses, but please check before entering.

They are doing permament road lay out works which may result in any future use of the A325/A31 roundabout being out of the question. It will a few months before any decision can be taken, hence I have ruled out ALL those courses that use the roundabout as a turn for this year. I am in contact with the Council and works contractors on a weekly basis,Phil Heaton and Keith Lawton will be looking at the situation on Wednesday when a risk Assessment audit is to be carried out on the A.31.

Riders are advised to check with the event organiser before entering
