When we bumped into Jimmy recently he was full of news about the band's new look and how great the fans
have been during the band's recent difficult spell. 'Things are really cool now,' he beams.
What's the most touchin' thing a fan has said or done for you?
When we were changing management at times we felt like everything was going down the pan. Sometimes
we thought it might be the end of 911. But a lot of the fans said 'No matter what goes on we'll
always be here for you.' It meant a lot to me knowing they were still thinkin' of us and that they hadn't
just moved onto the next band.
What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you since you've been in 911?
Dealing with all the legal stuff when we changed management. It was difficult because we're not used
to doin' all that kind of stuff.
So are you happy with the band's new image?
Yeah. We've always known we had to change, get a more mature look but we were scared of makin'
that change incase we lost eveybody. Now we've been forced into now because we had to come back with something new.
Everyone's happy because we don't have to go out of just wear things that we're comfortable with.
Which bits are you most glad to be rid of?
All the bright cheesy colours we had to wear and the cheesy poses we have to do in photoshoots.
They don't make us do them any more.
If you could ask the fans one question what would it be?
Erm, I don't know. I'd like to be on the other side and see what it's like to be a 911 fan.
I'd like to see what makes people think of 911 all the time and camp outside at 5 O'clock in
the morning to buy tickets. So I'd ask, 'What's it like to be a 911 fan?
What's the biggest lie you've told in an interview?
God! How many would you like ha ha. At the vert start we said weren't allowed girlfriends
which is the obvious thing you have to say. I regret saying that because people know we're
only human and there are no rules like that.
Have you ever used your position to get what you want?
No! I try to avoid using my position for anything. It's quite embarrasing if you try to get
something by saying 'Do you know who am I?' I know some people do it but it's not really us.
I'm happy to queue along with everybody else.
And finally... have you got any good gossip on any other pop stars?
We haven't really seen anyone for a while. It's been a bit quite and we've been busy recording
the album. I'll tell you when i do though.
