THE YORKSHIRE NUMISMATIC SOCIETY

The Yorkshire Numismatic Society is one of the oldest provincial numismatic societies in the UK, being founded in 1909. Its aim is to promote the study of coins, in particular those relating to Yorkshire. This aim may seem rather restrictive but, however, the interests of the members are rather more varied than that. Collectors of Greek coins rub shoulders with collectors of Yorkshire tokens, sixpences, Roman coins, Indian, Islamic, in fact any series you care to mention.
Meetings are held on the afternoon of the first Saturday of the month and newcomers are made most welcome, whether a serious scholar with years of detailed study behind them or somebody new to the hobby of coin collecting and wanting to know more.
If you want to know more or wish to come along to one of our meetings at Swarthmore College, Woodhouse Square, Leeds, LS3 , then join us at 2pm on one of the dates below or contact us at r_j_b@talk21.com
