 Blockbuster Xmas Party 03

2 is company

I photographed these two white doves sometime in 2002. I had to shoot through the wire of the aviary on a very dull day.

Sunset  - November 03

This was taken near a farm in Darlington. I used my partner's little Pentax compact.

Tree Silhouette-Feb 03

I simply pointed the camera at the tree with the setting sun behind it. Luckily I didnt have problems with flare!

Brass band

This was part of the 2004 Christmas Parade and the light was low (it was actually raining!).
I used the Pentax compact set to 'Flash Off' which gave me a slow shutter speed, allowing me to convey a sense of movement.

Backlit Leaves

These backlit leaves of Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) sprawling through the hedgerow caught my eye.

Angel of the North

I snapped this iconic statue from a moving coach while travelling home from Newcastle. Again I used the Pentax compact.

4 Crows

This was photographed in 2002. It is a dead tree overhanging the old boating lake in the South Park, Darlington.

Blue Moon-Feb 03

No actual moon in this shot at all, in fact it's the reflection of the hall lightbulb in the window, which I opened to the right amount to place its reflection behind the seed head. Also I fitted an 80A filter to increase the dusk time blueness.

Not a Drop

I found this colourful tap while wandering around the farm nearby.

12 tons

I found these plaques on a bench in the town's  Railway museum-it seems they come from Shildon which also has its own Railway Museum!

Chain

I came across this while walking through the grounds of the farm.

Clown

This clown was part of the 2004 Christmas Parade and was captured the same way as the Brass Band above.
