Sun Lovers

Some of my succulents enjoying the sun. Click the pic to go to a succulents forum.

Aloe juvenna

A 3 year old plant, no flowers yet. The leaves go brownish when in full sun. This species is often confused with a squarossa.
This got badly damaged when my greenhouse was wrecked but has made a comeback.

Ceropegia woodii

Called String of Hearts vine, its a caudiciform succulent with very unusual flowers!

Aeonium sp.

I think this is the one called 'Swarzkop'

Gasteria 'Little Warty'

This small plant is related to Aloes.
The name Gasteria comes from the greek word for stomach which refers to the shape of the flowers!

Aloe aristata flower buds

Click on the pic to see the flowers open!

Aloe barbadensis

The famous 'Aloe Vera' plant.

xGraptoveria 'Debbi'

xGraptoverias are hybrids between a Graptopetalum and an Echeveria, and this variety is called 'Debbi'.

Kalanchoe tomentosa

This has very furry leaves with brown tips Know as Pussy Ears or Panda Plant.
This also got badly damaged when my greenhouse was wrecked but I think its still alive.

Haworthia truncata

Another small relative of aloes, this one has flat-topped leaves which act like windows to trap the light that it needs.
In nature the contractile roots pull the plant below the soil  surface allowing only the 'windows' to cacth the sunlight!
