Chile Rose spiderling

In August 06 I bought my first Tarantula,(Actually its our 2 year old daughter Katie's, she loves spiders!)
It is  a Chile Rose(Grammostola rosea) and its natural habitat is a desert which is quyite dry for a Tarantula!
It is a pinkish colour and in this pic about 45mm across, tiny for a Tarantula but pretty big if it was a House Spider!

First cast skin

Finally towards the end of August it surprised us with this cast skin, just look at those fangs!

17/2/07,second molt

Definitely looking like a Tarantula now, and his/her appetite has increased! He/she has become very predatory and quite skittish, hiding away whenever I pick up the tank.

After first moult

When we bought the T we were told ot was about to moult, but it seemed it never would and it wasnt eating either.
I neednt have worried though as Spiders can go for months without food.

28 September 06

Here she is the day before feeding on a cricket.

Looking decidedly more Tarantula-like now!

06/07/07-3rd molt

July, she finally molted-I was beginning to think she might burst her butt was that big!
