White Knee
(Acanthoscurria geniculata)

Sadly this little one died about as month after I got him. I think he had a bad molt. :(
(Thanks to Nigel aka 8 legged freak)

Curly Hair Tarantula
(Brachypelma albopilosum)

This is a very tiny spiderling. It grows into an attractive T that appears to be having a permanently bad hair day!
(It is related to the very popular and well known Mexican Red Knee.)

Curly Hair Tarantula
20/04/07-3rd molt

After a few months and 2 molts, he's looking a lot bigger!

17/06/07, 5th molt

Such a transformation after this molt, and 2 molts in one month-growing fast!

Trinidad Chevron
(Psalmopoeus cambridgei)

This is a very fast arboreal species that has quite an appetite! It is about 1 1/2 inch in legspan at the moment.

Trinidad Chevron

Hawk is looking big now and taking Locusts!

Yamia sp. 'Koh Samui'

Another smalll one but its actually a dwarf species, only growing to 2" legspan maximum! It comes from an island of of Thailand and is very poorly known-in fact it doesnt even have a species yet and may not even be in the genus  Yamia! It is what is known as a pet hole, in that you hardly see it, just its burrow entrance.

Yamia sp. 'Koh Samui'-burrow

This is all I see of this one-its a pet hole! It must come out at night as I put crickets in and they disappear! It has molted twice, I think!

Yamia in new home

I realised that being such a burrower he needed a better home, so I rehoused him in a sugar dispenser with a good deep layer of substrate.

Brachypelma smithi
(Mexican Red Knee)

This is the first Tarantula that I ever handled, years ago.
I wanted one of these for my Father's Day present, but I got offered one at a reduced price and couldn't wait! ;)
(Thanks Mary!)
