Name: Daniel Lewis
OBAOSS: Founder and President (and Mac User Division Leader)
Studying for: BSc(Hons) Software Engineering (SH) (First year)
Experience:
- I have been using Apple Macs since the age of seven and have
used Mac OS 6 through to OSX. I have used Windows since the age
of 11 (98 through to XP), Unix(Darwin since OSX [since I was 16]),
and Linux recently. I also have knowledge of Amiga OS, Acorn RiscOS
and Sun Solaris.
- My qualified experience is a bit weird, I got C in I.T. GCSE
(I also have CLAIT), then went to college and did one year of
a BTEC ND in Computing (I got 2 Distinctions and 6 Merits) so
I got transfered onto a C&G Advanced Diploma in Information
Systems and Data Processing, LOCN certificates in VB and C++ and
a C&G certificate in Computer programming. Now I am at Brookes
and am doing BSc(Hons) Software Engineering.
- I'm affraid I have not got any good work experience, at secondary
school I spent two weeks at Electronic Solutions (an advertisement
agency and magazine/brochure production company). Part time during
college I worked for Currys Stores Ltd. I am doing a sandwich
year here at Brookes which should boost my work knowledge.
Interests:
- Computing obviously, mainly software development and intelligent
systems.
- OBAOSS obviously too.
- Playing guitar (and listening to rock/metal).
- Being Veggie!
- You'll meet me in the meetings/gatherings.
- Knowing random facts (both interesting and slightly weird)
