Hacking, Trojans and ISPs for the basic user - UPDATES

Hacking, Trojans and ISPs for the basic user

Welcome to my essay and FAQ on hacking. This bit of writing hopes to collect all the knowledge together I have gathered so far after being hacked myself last year. This is section has now grown away from my homepage and has become a site of its own, now accessable from either:

www.hacksafe.thetechzone.net

Or now, thanks to the kind help of Kerser from anti-trojan.org

www.hacksafe.anti-trojan.org

Looking into and learning about hacking and especially remote control trojan viruses has become somewhat of my hobby over the last few months. Very soon I hope to invest in another new computer which I will use to test out trojans on. I then also in the long run aim to write programs to possibly back hack or stop such intrusion. If I achieve this of course, this page will be the first to updated with information on how to stop specific trojans and any downloads I may have created to aid users to do this. I never intended to write just one essay and leave it at that. As my knowledge grows so will my essay and FAQ. I will use this page in future to post news about updates to my essay and FAQ. Please bookmark and come back soon!

Whats New?

Last Update 19/6/01
In this update:

19/6/01

Links updated - I've added a some new links to the link section, take a look.

19/6/01

Firewall Month - I've started a campaign to get more users using firewalls. If just 5% more people using the internet had firewalls over 6.5 million people would be protected against trojan viruses. Please support my idea by downloading a firewall from the links or from the firewall month page.

Older updates:

20/5/01

Commercial Trojans - How advertising companies may sneak a program onto your computer to silently tell them what sites you visit along with your name, age and details.

20/5/01

Links Updated - The hacking links section of the essay has been updated and now also has links out to other points of reading such as news stories etc.

20/5/01

Library - Here I'm going to put articles and news stories as well as links I have gathered to deal with internet security and saftey.

20/5/01

Broken Links and mispelt sections fixed! - Yep! I've taken out any broken links and taken away all the spelling and grammer mistakes I missed first time round. I'm only human after all...

20/5/01

New Definitions Added - Info on new terms such as "white hat" added to the essay.

20/5/01

How to use a proxy server - After my sketchy attempts at describing them, what they do and how to use them so far I've written a whole section on proxy servers as well as lists of where to find them and how to use them.

20/5/01

Trojans Tested - A step by step guide to how a hacker would use sub7, as tested on my own network.

I hope you will take some interest in this site and perhaps take up security as your own hobby. The more people become aware of the threats online and take protection seriously the harder hackers will have to work to have their fun.
