Congratulations for taking the first step toward building your career
in management .
Making good decisions is a crucial skill at every level.Excellent
judgement and decision making skills are the ones that distinguish one
good manager from the huge mass of ignorant people.
Enough of Gyaan yaar ....Kaam kee
baat karein !!!
Badiya ! Bottomline ! How do you select a
CAT test prep centre ? Which parameters you should consider ? What
works for you ? What kind of course do you need ?
Step 1 : VISIT CENTRES
You MUST visit all centres which you are considering.Sounds common sense, but I have seen many people who visit any one centre and take decisions. They dont visit other centres and justify their decisions by assuming things which are very far from the facts.
Step 2 : ASK QUESTIONS
The information counsellors provide will be important for you to know when you take decisions..Everybody wants to know about faculty or the timings but there are many other important questions. For eg:-
1.What is average Batch size of the class ?
2.What is the total number of classroom hours for the course?
3.Fee? Any group discounts ?
4.Number of Mock tests for CAT and other exams likeXAT,SNAP etc
5.Batch Timings etc ...
Step 3 : TAKE DECISION WISELY
There are many other
parameters which one should consider before deciding the coaching
centre. For example,Distance will not be the major criteria for many
people out there or, is it ?
It all boils down to one
thing : What works for you ? Yes, YOU !!!
Now once you have an overview of centres ,you can choose which way to go by considering all parameters and their importance for you. I have created a small tool
webpage which (possibly)helps you to organize your decision process .I hope you will find it useful.
