The Constitution
of the UP Paranormal Society
- (Article IV: MEMBERSHIP)
- Section 8. Obligations
of Members
1.) The members of
the UP Paranormal Society must know, respect, and uphold the rules stated in
this Constitution.
2.) The regular active members of the UP Paranormal Society must be a member
of a committee.
3.) The members of the UP Paranormal Society must actively participate in
the activities and endeavors of their respective committee affiliation, as
well as all activities sponsored by the whole organization.
4.) The members of the UP Paranormal Society must sustain the integrity of
the High Council and stand for the decision made therein.
Section 9. Rules
Governing Misconduct
1.) A member shall
be suspended from the organization on the grounds presented by the High
Council upon approval by the majority composed of duly recognized members
after a judicial process.
2.) A member shall be expelled from the organization on the grounds
presented by the High Council upon approval by the majority composed of duly
recognized members after a judicial process.
3.) Any member may be suspended/expelled from the organization for any of
the following reasons:
a.) absence for one-half of the total official meetings
for the whole semester without any valid excuse and proof thereof
b.) gross neglect of duties assigned
c.) gross misconduct that can damage the reputation of
the organization
d.) misrepresentation by slander, perjury, etc.
e.) other reasons which the organization deems worthy of
expulsion subject to the approval of the whole organization.
Section 10.
Procedures in Filing for the Expulsion of a Member
1. Duly recognized
members of the organization may file for the expulsion of a member by
submitting a formal letter to the High Council stating the reasons therein.
2. A general assembly shall be made no more than one (1) week subsequently.
3. A decision shall be made subject to a vote by simple majority after a
judicial process.
Article V:
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

- Section 1. The
High Council
1. The high
Council shall be the highest governing body in the UP Paranormal Society.
2. The High Council is composed of the President and the three (3) Vice
Presidents of each committee.
3. The role of the High Council are as follows:
a. It shall decide on matters which involve the whole
organization.
b. It shall coordinate the activities undertaken by the
whole organization.
c. It shall decide the basis of evaluation for possible
suspension or expulsion of any member.
d. It shall govern the election process.
e. It shall inform the Faculty adviser of major events
and decisions.
Section 2.
The Committees
1. The Internals
Committee (IC)
a. This Committee shall be headed by the Vice President
for Internals. It shall be composed of two (2) major tasks -- handling
the members and managing the application process.
b. Member Handling
i. It shall
handle the semestral reaffirmation of members.
ii. It shall
maintain a complete, updated list of pertinent information regarding
officers, members, and alumni.
iii. It shall
recommend to the High Council probable reasons for suspension or expulsion
of members.
iv. It shall
perform other duties assigned to it by the High Council.
c. Applicant Management
i. It shall
handle the Application process.
ii. It shall
maintain a complete, updated list of pertinent information regarding the
applicants.
iii. It shall
evaluate the performance of each applicant and thus recommend for his or her
acceptance or rejection.
iv. It shall
perform other duties assigned to it by the High Council.
2. The Externals Committee (EC)
a. This Committee shall be headed by the Vice President
for Externals.
b. It shall promote and publicize the activities of the
whole organization.
c. It shall perform other duties assigned to it by the
High Council.
3. The Finance Committee (FC)
a. This Committee shall be headed by the Vice President
for Finance.
b. It shall manage the funds of the organization.
c. It shall conduct fund-raising activities upon approval
by the High Council and with the participation of the whole organization.
d. No money shall be utilized out of the funds except in
pursuance of an appropriation authorized by the High Council.
e. It shall perform other duties assigned to it by the
High Council.
4. The Marketing ADHOC COMMITTEE
a. This special committee shall be created in cases of
major events sponsored by the organization, under the direct supervision of
the president
b. The committee shall be composed of both Finance and
Externals Committees.
c. This Committee shall be obliged with the task of
acquiring sponsors for the organization’s events.
5. The COMELEC
a. This Committee formed by the High Council shall
evaluate and govern the election process.
b. This Committee reserves the right reject any
suspicious vote to any elective position.
c. This Committee shall tally the results of any
election.
d. This Committee shall induct the new officers in the
general assembly.

- Article VI: THE
COUNCIL OF ELDERS
Section 1.
The Council of Elders will serve as advisers to the High Council.
Section 2.
The Council of Elders is composed of (1) the registered faculty adviser, (2)
the registered co-faculty adviser, (3) chosen alumni members of the
organization, (4) chosen non-faculty and non-alumni entities who have
expertise in the paranormal.
Section 3. The
Faculty Adviser will serve as the medium between the High Council and the
Council of Elders with regards to official business.
Section 4.
Members of the Council of Elders must be presented to the High Council and
approved by them.
Article VII:
THE HIGH COUNCIL
Section 1.
The High Council shall be composed of:
1. President
2. Vice President for Internal Affairs
3. Vice President for External Affairs
4. Vice President for Financial Affairs
Section 2.
The following are the duties of the President:
1. shall head the High Council.
2. shall preside over the general assembly.
3. shall represent the Council on all occasions and events in and/or off
campus where the members of the UP Paranormal Society are to be represented.
4. shall cast a vote if and only if the body in session is equally divided
on a question.
5. shall perform such other duties as may be deemed necessary in the
fulfillment of his duties and functions
