19/03/2008 - Arrangements have now been made to replace the hedge on Peel Road near the station in Thorntonhall. This was cut down to the roots without the permission o SLC. The replacement should be planted within the next couple of weeks.

17/01/2008 The Local Plan inquiry has been taking place in East Kilbride and over the last few days the Community Council and one or two individuals have been making their case for conserving the identities of Jackton and Thorntonhall. All evidence has now been taken for Jackton and Friday 18th is the last day for Thorntonhall. It will not be until 2009 that we discover the outcome.
