·        Michael McCann has agreed to contact the police to identify who covers our area and to help arrange a visit

 

  1. Secretary’s Report
    1. Contacted police to arrange a visit to discuss vandalism in the area, but to no avail
    2. George also attended the GSO meeting

 

  1. Treasurer’s Report
    1. No movement this month
    2. Two accounts can now be closed – Marjorie Dowie fund and Millennium fund

 

  1. Councillor’s Report
    1. Tree trimming and traffic measures have been followed up by the councillor
    2. Recycling in South Lanarkshire is up to 35% from 7% due to blue, green bins and glass and paper boxes.  Jackton and Thorntonhall proposed roll out in 1st ½ 2005.
    3. Temporary accommodation has now been sorted out to allow construction of high schools to go ahead.
    4. Concept of community schools to be rolled out in primaries.  Mossneuk down for redevelopment in 2010.

    1. GSO – update

1.      George attended the latest meeting on Nov 11th

2.      Completion still anticipated for April /May 2005.

3.      Flyover at Philipshill Roundabout now expected to be partially open during December.

4.      Thornton Road nominally open, but Braehead Road being kept closed meantime.

    1. Proposed use of greenbelt fund to engage legal advice for creating boundaries covered by Land Reform act.  Still ongoing.

1.      Jackton – 348 Eaglesham Road, application now withdrawn

2.      Communications mast at A726 in field NW of Peel Round about – no comment made.

3.      Application submitted by Kean for land between Hayhill and police college – objection lodged – no feedback yet

4.      Objection lodged against Application for large agricultural house at Hayhill. No feedback yet.

5.      Application from Cala Homes to modify certain house types at Laigh Braehead – Planning committee meeting on 25th Nov @2pm Civic Centre

6.      An Outline Planning Application has been submitted by Kean / Taylor Woodrow for business / industrial units, car showroom. Retail unit, clinic / pharmacy, bar / diner and hotel, adjacent to Eaglesham Road adjacent to Redwood Avenue and Redwood Drive.  This has been modified and locals like it.

7.      Application lodged to convert agricultural outbuildings to 5 houses at S Allerton Farm. Objection submitted. No feedback.

8.      Application lodged for sixteen flatted dwellings on site of Philipshill Garden Centre. Development in Greenbelt. Objection submitted. No feedback.

9.      Application submitted for works near Kirkland Bridge, between Jackton and Eaglesham, in connection with White Cart Water flood alleviation scheme, sponsored by Glasgow City Council
