·        Meeting now arranged for Sgt Walker of Strathclyde Police to come to our March meeting and discuss vandalism and speeding.

 

  1. Secretary’s Report
    1. In response to the proposed Rail Users meeting, JTCC have submitted request for a half hourly service at Thorntonhall Station
    2. Scottish Water has circulated notice about programme to eliminate leaks, and there may be periods when water is cut off, with 48-hour minimum notice given. This is planned for completion in South Lanarkshire by March 2006.
    3. Meeting arranged with SLC Planning 7th February, to discuss various subjects including Cala Layout proposals, background to past Planning Decisions, role of Community Councils in planning procedures.

    1. Rent paid for tennis club £30 for three months to December
    2. Current Account balance £1919 Campaign Balance £2650

 

  1. Councillor’s Report
    1. Councillor McCann following up on methods of crossing the bridge more safely – Neil Chisholm to report to Councillor McCann on 27th January 
    2. Councillor picking up the issue of detrunking the A726 between Thorntonhall and the Peel Roundabout – This has been clarified as being under Connect’s control for the next 30 years.
    3. Former Safeway services at Stewartfield – Councillor has contacted their head office to clarify plans for the store.  Campaign due to get under way

    1. GSO – update

1.      Closures of various lanes due to take place until the end of April.  Problems with flyover towards Busby not yet remedied.

 

    1. Jackton residents did a clean up of the area after the storms.  Much of the rubbish is being blown over from Westend farm.
    2. No snowploughing was carried out on Braehead Road during the recent poor weather.  Councillor McCann to follow through.
    3. Michael West presented the results of the recent consultation on the third party rights of appeal to planning law, which showed a huge majority in favour of such rights.

1.      Application submitted by Kean for land between Hayhill and police college – objection lodged – still no feedback

2.      Objection lodged against Application for large agricultural house at Hayhill. No feedback yet.

3.      Further application from Cala Homes to modify certain garages at Laigh Braehead – No information received yet.

4.      Application lodged to convert agricultural outbuildings to 5 houses at S Allerton Farm. Objection submitted. No feedback.

5.      Application lodged for sixteen flatted dwellings on site of Philipshill Garden Centre. Development in Greenbelt. Objection submitted. No feedback.

6.      Application submitted for works near Kirkland Bridge, between Jackton and Eaglesham, in connection with White Cart Water flood alleviation scheme, sponsored by Glasgow City Council – No comments submitted

7.      Application submitted for two-storey side extension at 3 Wellknowe Road.

8.      Application lodged for conservatory and building extension at Little Dripps Cottage.
