The course is aimed at complete beginners and by the end, you will be a competent helmsman of a sailing dinghy being able to launch and sail the boat to a good standard and to judge such things as weather conditions and safety for you and your crew. A full capsize drill is also included in the course. At the start, it is aimed at complete beginners, but the course takes you from that to an introduction to racing towards the end of the course. The course offers excelent instruction by experienced sailors. Our beginners course in an annual event which has taken place for many years now and has always been a success, with many of the beginners staying on in the club to enjoy racing or just sailing their own boat.

A qualification of RYA sailing level 1 or 2 will be acheived upon sucessful completion of the course.
