To make a pop-up, you need to create three areas on card. A: Fore Ground, B: Mid Ground & C. Background
 
C. Background. The illusion of the something of in the distance is the, BACK GROUND, which in this case is a jungle.
 


 

A: Fore Ground. The illusion of the something up close to you is the, FORE GROUND, which in this case is grass.

C: 
B: Mid Ground. The illusion of the something of half way into the distance is the MID GROUND, which in this case is the tigers.

    Everything you need to make a pop-up can be made from two pieces of A4 card.
    Draw & colour your distance scene on C = BACK GROUND.
    Draw, colour & cut out your main thing on B = MID GROUND.
    Draw, colour & cut out a small thing on A = FORE GROUND.
    Glue A & B to the card on which you have created C.
    Make Levers to pull your pop-up up and down, and glue them in place.
