History

   Krosniewicka Kolej Dojazdowa is one from the biggest and longest polish gauges in Poland. It started in 1915. Before the first world war, polish sugar factory built tracks for better shuttle service between sugar beets fields and sugar factory. During the first war, Krosniewicka Kolej Dojazdowa substituted very important function, because it was a supplier munitions for German army. In this time, special section in German army built new tracks to Osieciny, Lubraniec and Jerzmanowo. After first world war ends, this railway constituted excellent transport to villages and towns in Kujawy area. After Poland become independent the Krosniewicka Kolej Dojazdowa has associate to National Polish Railways (PKP). At the same time this railway also had annexed to other narrow gauge railways in Kujawy state.

   After second world war number of transports (includes people and cargo) had grown. This good situation was till 1990s when Polish economy had changed from socialism to capitalism so the transport had become uneconomic. The railway was closed in March 2002. Krosniewicka Kolej Dojazdowa was succeed by SKPL. In 01.11.2002 SKPL started trains again. Now SKPL organize traffic all year (cargo and passengers), especially for people who are living in Krosniewice, Ostrowy, Dabrowice and …. In the future SKPL will want organize traffic to Ozorkow, but only for tourists.
