The Chequers, Woolmer Green.
The Chequers is located on the Great North Road, on the way to Knebworth and Stevenage. The PGC marked its "25 Pub Anniversary" at this venue, which has a very wide selction of food in the restaurant an bar. The service at the Chequers is particularly good, and the standard of beers, as with many free houses, was high.
The bar itself is large, but the exterior appearance gives the impression of being bigger than it actually is.
