Abaddon :- The Abbot of Swords, tutor to the Thirty. Acuas :- Heart of the Thirty and Warrior Source Priest. Ananais :- Known as the Golden One and former gladiator where he had his face ripped off by a joining. Now known as Dark Mask due to the mask he wears to hide his disfigurement. Was a member of the Dragon.

Asta Khan :- The Shamn of the Wolfshead tribe who instigates the Shaman Quest.

Aulin :- Renya's grandfather and the man who unlocked the secrets of the ancients as was able to recreate some of thier mysterys unfortuantely it was abused by Ceska and the Joinings were created.

Balan :- The Eyes of the Thirty

Ceska :- Initially a councilor he is now the self styled tyranical Emperor of the Drenai. Tenaka means to instigate his downfall after his annihilation of his former friends "The Dragon" an army instigated by Woundweaver shortly after the invasion of Ulric. (see Legend)

Decado :- The Ice Killer, becomes a Priest after too many battles and becomes the leader of the Thirty.

Galand :- Once a member of the Dragon he defeated Tenaka to become the champion of the Silver sword competition. He is also the brother of Parsal.

Katan :- The Soul of the Thirty.

Magir :- Lader of the Cheiam (the drinkers of blood), who follow the ways of Joachim.

Nosta Khan :- Shaman of the Wolfshead and formerly Ulrics Shaman.

Padaxes :- Laader of the Dark Templars, slain by Decado.

Pagan :- A King from the Opal Coast. His real name is Kataskicana. He is on a mission to see Ceska's death for the murder upon his own people.

Parsal :- Galand's brother who joins the Rebellion against Ceska.

Ravenna :- Rayvan's daughter and future wife of Scaler.

Rayvan :- Leader of the Skoda Rebellion.

Renya :- Joining and granddaughter of Aulin a former Source Priest who unlocked the powers of the ancients and gave birth to the Joinings. She is also Tenaka's love interest in the novel.

Scaler :- The Earl of Bronze known as Arvan. For fear of his safety as the rest of his family were murdered by Ceska he took to the road as a thief. Cousin to Tenaka Khan.

Shirrat Knifespeaks :-One of the leaders of the Wolfshead Tribe. It is he along with Tenaka and Saddleskull who embark on the Shamans quest in order to save tribal lives as the alternative would have been an internal war.

Subodai :- Formerly a member of the Tall Spears, now a wolfshead after being rescued and adopted by Tenaka as his bondsman.

Tenaka Khan :- Blade-dancer, Prince of Shadows and Torchbearer. He is of both the line of Ulric as well as Regnak, Earl of Bronze. Scalers Cousin. Tsuboy Saddleskull:- One of the leaders of the Wolfshead Tribe. It is he along with Tenaka and Knifespeak who embark on the Shamans quest in order to save tribal lives as the alternative would have been an internal war.

My Views

The tale of Tenaka and how he becomes the uniter. For the Drenai series a book that has to be read as it explains the rise to greatness of the Nadir people and shows the reader the conclusion to how many thought Legend would be.

Buy, buy, buy is all I can say to this book.
