This set is going to be the forthcoming Troy Trilogy, currently nothing is known about them other than David is "...only 20,000 words into the first book, and working on a second draft following reports from test readers. Too early to give hints - except perhaps to say that I'm looking to tie in some famous 'historical' characters into the story.. "
The current titles for the forthcoming Troy Trilogy are : Lord of the Silver Bow, Shield of Thunder and The Fall of Kings. Please also note that there is a cover for the forthcoming novel.
I now have the endorsed version by David Gemmell, this is how it shapes up :
Three lives will change the destiny of nations.
Helikaon, the young prince of Dardania, haunted by a scarred and
traumatic childhood. The priestess Andromache, whose fiery spirit and fierce independence threatens the might of kings. And the legendary warrior Argurios, cloaked in loneliness and driven only by thoughts of revenge.
In Troy they find a city torn apart by destructive rivalries - a maelstrom of jealousy, deceit, and murderous treachery. And beyond its fabled walls blood hungry enemies eye its riches and plot its downfall. It is a time of bravery and betrayal; a time of bloodshed and fear.
A time for heroes.
In Lord of the Silver Bow, the first in an epic trilogy, David Gemmell
combines vivid characterization with a wealth of historical detail in a
compelling, unputdownable novel of love and hatred, ambition and rivalry,
peace and war.
What is currently known so far is :
Troy: City of gold, beloved of the gods, peopled by heroes; where wealth and privilage and rapacious greed walk hand in hand and the greatest of tragedies is about to unfold. Helikaon, prince of Dardaia ia about to set sail for Troy. Aboard his ship the largest in the Aegean Sea, and regarded by many as dangerously unseaworthy is his trusted friend and sea-captain Zidantas; a young impressionable youth who has never been to sea; and a deadly Myken warrior intent on revenge.
Their journey to the fabled city will encompass storm and near shipwreck, attempted assassination, personal tragedy, and a mass sea-battle whose bloody aftermath will haunt Helikaon and his companions for the rest of their voyage. Helikaon will also meet his old friend and master-storyteller, Odysseus, and fall irrevocably in love with a woman as beautiful as a goddess.
But when he arrives in Troy a city riven from within by the destructive rivalries of King Priams younger sons he finds a city ready to implode. With powerful enemy kingdoms nearby eyeing the citys riches, he knows a terrible war cannot be long coming....
In Lord of the Silver Bow, the first in an epic trilogy encompassing the Trojan war, David Gemmell combines vivid characterization and stunning action sequences with a wealth of historical detail in a compelling, unputdownable novel of love and hate, ambition and rivalry, bravery and betrayal.
