My Views

For me Waylander is one of Gemmell's best characters, a man dark enough to be considered by many as evil yet light enough to fight for the causes of good.

This book explores how the good comes back into Waylanders life and also explains a bit more of the mysterious group of monks known as the Thirty that appears in Gemmells first novel, Legend.

A book worth buying to meet a darker character on a similar path and background to Shannow. Another added bonus of this is a tale of daring, strategic planning and perhaps above all a tale where the day looks darker before the dawn.
