Well, i first got into Savage Garden in 1997 when they released their debut album called Savage Garden.
Being quite young at the time i didn't really consider going to a concert, and by the time i found out about the concerts, i had missed the Swansea concert. I was gutted!!
So a few years passed, i grew up a bit and when the Affirmation Album was released i got back into them.
This was late 1999, and i joined the Savage Garden message board. It was great back then, so much information available on them - it was fun! Even Darren himself was posting messages to the fans!!
So when i heard the Affirmation Tour was happening - i teamed up with my new found friend Liz and we went to 4 concerts of theirs and won tickets to an exclusive concert with just 200 people with Radio 2. It was mind blowing.
On the Tour we went to:
* Newcastle
* Birmingam
* Manchester
* London
Though, during one of their songs called "Hold Me", Darren and Daniel would pick a member of the audience onto the stage and sing to them.
At the Manchester Arena Concert on the Affirmation Tour - me and Liz got picked!
It was scarey and amazing at the same time. To be honest, to this day, i still cannot believe it and cannot really put it into words!
A few days after the concert, during a radio interview, Darren said that there had been 14,000 people at the concert the night me and Liz got picked - and to be honest, with the view from the stage, i can believe it!! I shake thinking about it. Its definately a night i will never forget!
Especially as that was the biggest amount of people Savage Garden ever played to in the UK for just one of *their* Concerts.
