New Merlin spares

This Packard two-speed supercharger clutch is typical of the 130,000 new parts we hold. E-Mail me for a copy of the full list.
We are always interested in trades for other parts whether used or not, and we can often locate what you are looking for.
Note that I`m not in this to make money, so helping you find what you need is the top priority!

Here are a selection of the many original tools we have, some of which are for the Bristol Hercules, and some other Bristol tools. I don`t think any of these are Rolls-Royce though. Who can shed some light on them? They are all available along with many others, if they can be identified.

These are a set of tools I made for Retro, screw-jacks for the blocks, tappet adjusters and camshaft turning spanners. I have made several sets of these tools over the years. I copy the originals for some, but usually design my own, although they never look as attractive!

One of the most difficult jobs on a Merlin is to separate the head from the skirt on a two-piece block. I have the drawings for the tools, a type of collet-chuck that grips the .007" step at the base of the cylinder liner, with a screw-jack, but it is a £500 pair of tools, at least, so made this cheaper set in two halves which worked okay, but just like the originals, time will tell, as it may wear on the tiny holding step. These were made for Nelson Aero Engineering in 1998.

Replica Airframe Component Manufacture

To manufacture the engine-bearers for the Merlin XX, I copied a set of corroded originals. All the forged brackets were machined from solid, and are entirely faithful to the original.

I have recently remade parts for a Boulton Paul gun turret which involved a combination of fabrication and machined parts.

Casting and Machining

These pictures show the cast aluminium coolant outlets and steel lifting eye for a Merlin. Robin is often able to use melted down Merlin castings which are beyond repair, and these machine very well.

An alternative to casting which we often use is to machine items from solid steel or aluminium. We have a vast array of machine tools, large and small, and can undertake this type of work for your project.
