Website of the UK`s premier Merlin engine overhaul specialist whose regular customers include the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial
Flight. Retro also specialise in other vintage engines and airframes, and vintage racing cars and engines!

Nothing I say will ever do justice to this site! You could spend a week on it easily. If it`s aviation related then it has
probably been for sale or wanted on here sometime, take a look.Found this Merlin 25 on there recently, looks nice. It is free
to advertise here.

Everett Aero specialise in Gas Turbines and spares. They often have small engines and APUs for sale, like our Plessey GTS.

Not Merlins again, but equally interesting. Mark Nye`s site is very professional and well worth a look. He builds gas turbines
from scratch, and has many innovative ideas. A professional looking web-site.

DGAM, located in the old control tower of the former Dumfries airfield is a superb collection of 21 aircraft and thousands of artifacts, many recovered from WW2 crash sites (see "A Spitfire Called Blue Peter" on this site).

Well worth a visit, a warm welcome is always guaranteed!

Fascinating US-based site covering all big piston aero engines including the Merlin. Run partly by Graham White, author on the subject, and also has mobile ground-running engines which can be seen on the site. Engine above is a Pratt & Whitney R2800, a 46 litre, 18 cylinder American radial.

The Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust covers not only R-R, but all the other companies that became a part of it, such as Bristol, who are one of many with their own branch. RRHT are presently compiling a list of preserved aero engines for the BAPC, so if you happen to have one hidden away, why not drop Peter Kirk a line at the Trust, I`m sure he would love to hear from you! A very professional organisation which has cheap membership, and an ever-expanding list of technical & historical publications at very reasonable prices.

This is the home of Dwight Thorne`s rebuild facility, turning out pillar-box red Merlins, some of which are tuned to give nearly 4000hp for the Reno air-races. Dwight has been overhauling Merlins for over 30 years.

This society, started by Paul Rogers are presently building a Hawker Hurricane to ground-taxying status using as many original parts as possible. A story of determination that is now beginning to pay off as the aircraft`s sub-assemblies proceed towards the point where they can be assembled. The site is comprehensive, and regularly updated.

The Museum of Flight is one of the foremost Aviation museums in the UK,one of the National Museums of Scotland, it is situated just to the east of Edinburgh and houses a very comprehensive collection of aircraft, engines and related displays from the Wright Brothers to the present day. They also hold a multitude of varied events during the year, including the festival of flight airshow, not to be missed!

This is a joint web site run by Carlisle brothers Andrew and David Pate. It covers street lighting, the use of pic and plc controls, ans a separate section all about modelling military uniforms in 1:6 scale. A great mix of serious and amusing bits.
