Rabbit Teeth - time for a check-up?
You may be surprised
to learn that the most common health problem in rabbits is dental disease.
Rabbits have continuously growing teeth, with both the cheek teeth and
the incisor (front) teeth growning by as
much as 1-2mm per week!
The incisor teeth
should meet, thereby ensuring that as your rabbit chews, they will wear
down. If they become misaligned they will continue to grow, and will
overgrow past each other. This invariably
leads to eating problems.
Turning to the
cheek teeth, these are grinding teeth. However if they become overgrown,
they frequently develop sharp spikes and can lacerate the tongue and
cheeks, making eating very painful. Signs
commonly include "slobbers" with saliva wetting around the
mouth, a descreased appetite and often marked weight loss.
If you are worried about your rabbit's teeth, please have them checked by your local vet, they will also be able to advise you on diet regimes aimed at promoting optimum dental health.

Acute Gastrointestinal Disturbances
Healthy rabbit guts contain the right type of food (high fibre, moderate protein, low starch); constantly moving through the system; and a healthy bacterial population in the large bowel. If any of these things change then rabbits can die within hours. Any or all of the following may occur with or without diarrhoea.
* fluid shifts
causing dehydration and shock
* toxins released inside the gut
* pain
* disturbance of bacterial flora.
* electrolyte (salt) disturbances
The commonest cause of GI problems in companion rabbits is if the gut slows down and stops - gastrointestinal stasis or "ileus".
Baby rabbits, on the other hand, are very susceptible to tummy upsets, for a number of reasons. Their gut bacteria not be fully established after weaning; diet is likely to be changed and there is the stress of leaving mum and going to a new home.
GI stasis
Sometimes rabbit guts simply stop moving. There's nearly always an underlying cause - pain; dental problems; hidden infection; general debility. "Fur balls" are often diagnosed in rabbits with GI stasis, but it's more likely that fur has accumulated in a sluggish gut rather than causing the problem in the first place.
If a rabbit develops GI stasis, the droppings become small and miss-shapen over a few days and the appetite gradually reduces. Once the gut has come to a standstill ("ileus") the rabbit will be very quiet; pass little or no faeces, and may show signs of abdominal discomfort.
If your bunny stops eating, it's an emergency.
GI infection
Bunnies can become infected with a parasite called coccidiosis; bacterial infections; or viruses. The effects vary - some rabbits develop diarrhoea; others "bloat". Coccidiosis can usually be seen under the microscope, so remember to take a faeces sample to the vet.
Mucoid enteropathies
It's been known for many years that young rabbits may develop a severe illness characterised by abdominal pain; loss of appetite; and production of jelly like material from the back passage. Problems usually occur around weaning, but can occur later. Lack of dietary fibre is strongly implicated in many cases of mucoid enteropathy.
TREATING SICK RABBITS
1) General supportive measures (applies to any sick rabbit):
- Warmth
Poorly bunnies need warmth and quiet .
- Fluids
The key to treating any critically ill rabbit is warmed fluids by a suitable route. Rabbits need 80-100ml of fluid per kg every 24 hours, plus replacement of losses.
Fluid losses from the gut contain salts (electrolytes) as well as water, Both need to be replaced: plain water may not be sufficient.

VHD:
Viral Haemorrhagic Disease. It’s a deadly disease that any rabbit can catch, and it kills most of those that get it. It first appeared in Britain in 1992. It’s totally different to myxomatosis and was a notifiable disease until October 1996, when the MAFF (now DEFRA) lifted restrictions on affected premises - the disease had become so widespread that such measures were futile.
Only vaccination can control the spread of the disease in domestic rabbits. VHD is so deadly it has been released in Australia to kill wild rabbits with great success. The problem is, it kills pet rabbits too. VHD is also called HVD and RCD.
There are lots of ways your rabbits could pick up the virus. Food (e.g. hay) or water contaminated by infected wild rabbits is one way. Birds or insects may bring the virus to your rabbits on their feet or in their droppings, which your rabbits may eat if they graze on the lawn. It may be blown on the wind. You (or your dog or cat) might accidentally bring the virus home on your feet from infected wild rabbit droppings, and vermin around rabbit hutches might bring it along too. You might pick it up from other peoples’ rabbits, for example at a show or even if another rabbit owner handles your rabbits.
VHD usually kills older rabbits. They may just die suddenly, with no sign of anything wrong. Or they may get very ill before dying, have difficulty breathing, go off their food, have a high temperature and bleed from the nose and bottom. A few rabbits only get mildly ill and then recover.

Understanding Myxomatosis
Myxomatosis is a viral disease which decimated the wild rabbit population when it arrived in Britain 40 years ago. The number and severity of outbreaks varies over time: the myxomatosis virus is notorious for its ability to mutate from year to year, and the background immunity in the wild rabbit population also varies.
Domestic rabbits do not have any genetically based immunity against myxomatosis. If an unvaccinated pet rabbit catches myxomatosis, it will almost certainly die. Pet rabbits at greatest risk are those which live outside, in contact with wild rabbits or hares, or affected by rabbit fleas - so rabbit owners who also have a dog or cat that hunts wild rabbits must be particularly careful.
However, myxi can also be spread by mosquitoes, so any standing or stagnant pools of water where mosquitoes may breed should be removed. The virus can survive in overwintering fleas and mosquitoes sheltering in hay and in houses. It can also be spread by Cheyletiella fur mites.
Myxi is usually spread by biting insects (fleas, mosquitoes) carrying the virus. However, direct rabbit-to-rabbit spread can occur.
The disease starts with runny eyes and swollen genitalia. If full blown myxi then develops, the rabbit will be a pitiful sight. Severe conjunctivitis causes blindness and is accompanied by swelling of the head and genital region, plus lumps on the body. The rabbit can take a fortnight to die and treatment of this "classic" form of myxomatosis is usually futile.
If a vaccinated rabbits does develop myxomatosis, the disease tends to be much less severe. The exact pattern of disease seen in vaccinated animals is very variable, and impossible to predict: it depends upon how much immunity the rabbit has.
Vaccination is a vital part of a package of measures you can take to protect your rabbit and the RWA urges all rabbit owners to make sure their rabbit is vaccinated and boosters are kept up to date.
Even if your rabbit
is vaccinated, you must also take steps to prevent biting insects getting
to your rabbit.
For example, try to buy hay from farms free of myxomatosis; fit insect
screens to outdoor hutches and runs; eliminate standing water from your
garden where mosquitoes could breed. be especially careful if you have
a dog or cat that hunts wild rabbits, as they could bring rabbit fleas
home on their noses! You also need to make sure that rabbits living
outdoors cannot make contact with wild rabbits or hares.

Bunny Health
Almost all early
bunny health problems are caused by an imbalance of bacteria in the
gut early in their life, thus resulting in problems with digestion and
absorption of nutrients. Many times these are
manifested as the inability to thrive.
All warm blooded animals such as birds, kittens, bunnies, puppies, children etc. are born with a sterile gut. This means there is no bacteria in the gut. Immediately upon breathing oxygen, bacteria--both good and pathogenic (bad)--begin to develop. This is nature and how it is supposed to be.
A puppy, kitten, bunny, or child, all have their mothers mammary glands to aid them in their first few critical days of life. These glands provide colostrum which contains antibodies and immunoglobulin microorganisms so necessary for the proper bacterial establishment in the gut in the baby's first 72 hours after birth. Colostrum is NOT milk. It has an entirely different chemical makeup than milk.
Unfortunately many mothers do not have enough production from the mammary glands to aid each bunny in establishing the right bacterial balance in its system. Many times the mother will be given antibiotics before kindling "to prevent potential infection" which then passes on through to the bunnies and destroys what the Creator established in helping the newborn.
Many times the pathogenic bacteria will establish itself much more quickly resulting in gut problems, poor digestion, diarrhea and a generally weakened condition and sometimes death. Our highest recommendation is to give the mother probiotics, not antibiotics, if preventing infection is desired or necessary.
Like we say here at the Rabbit Medicine Chest, bad news travels faster than good news as we all know. So too will bad bacteria in establishing itself more quickly than the good bacteria to the detriment of the little newborn.
What we do and what we recommend for ALL our new baby bunnies is to give them a product our doctors developed specifically for this critical bacterial balancing act--ProBac Bunny.
ProBac Bunny is a powdered substance containing dried colostrum and 20 BILLION colony forming units of good bacteria that has been used in the rabbit industry in Europe since 1874. The bacteria in the ProBac Bunny are: lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus casei, lactobacillus lactis, streptococcus faecium and bifidobacterium.
We would give the
ProBac Bunny in the mother's food or water to pass onto to her bunnies
through her mammary glands. This not only helps the bunnies in their
early development, it also helps the
mother boost her own immune system during her stressful quest in feeding
her new babies.
If, you happen
to be hand feeding the baby, we recommend putting a pinch (that's right
a pinch because it is so powerful and that is all that is necessary)
in the feeding that you are giving the bunny each time you
feed. We use ProBac Bunny on a daily basis until the bunnies are at
least three months old. Once the bunnies are weaned, it is critical
at this very, very, very stressful time to maintain the bunny's health
by
continuing to add ProBac Bunny to its daily feeding regiment each time
one feeds.
Do this fresh each
time one feeds and the bunnies should never have a gut problem. They
will thrive because they will be absorbing more of the nutrients you
are feeding them. Their under-developed immune
system will be aided, they will be happier as they will be more nutritionally
satisfied and, according to many of the breeders and bunny owners who
use the ProBac Bunny, they will be in robust health.
We have two sizes of the ProBac Bunny---small for $39 which will last about a month and the larger size--250 grams for $70 which will provide enough support for 3-6 months.
ProBac Bunny can be stored in the refrigerator or in a cupboard. This wonderful natural remedy was developed in Europe long before refrigeration, so it is still not necessary to store in a refrigerator although most people do so which is perfectly fine.
Once the bacteria meet up with water, they become active. Thus it is important to keep this product dry until you are ready to use it. Now you decide the time to begin activation for maximum benefit for your bunnies
What if your bunny
has developed diarrhea? We recommend adding an herbal product the doctors
developed for us called Systemajuv. These herbs activate the liver,
kidneys and gut and have been shown to help balance the gut within hours.
Systemajuv is a probiotic, antiviral, antitoxin and immune system booster
all in
one. When one combines the ProBac Bunny and the Systemajuv, bringing
the baby back to health generally only takes a few days.
Put 4-5 drops directly down the baby's throat 5-6 times daily for 2-3 days and the problem almost always will disappear in a matter of days. We also suggest adding some to the food and/or water dish too.
Prevention, Prevention, Prevention is the philosophy of the Rabbit Medicine Chest as you well know. So we also recommend adding Concentrated Trace Minerals to your bunny's diet along with Super Vita Bunny to make sure it is getting all the nutritional support it needs to grow strong bones and strong, well defined muscles. The minerals are actually more important than the vitamins because without the minerals in the bunny's systems, the body cannot absorb all the vitamins it needs.
What about the bunny shots? Frankly this is quite a controversial topic. We do get into the fray because we don't recommend but the bare minimum of any foreign matter being placed into a bunny's little growing body. What's the bare minimum? What the law requires in your area.
The reason for
our hesitation is because we see and hear so much about all the skin
problems, liver and kidney failures and so many other diseases caused
by contaminating the little rabbit bodies. Certainly the lethal chemical
toxic worming/flea products also do a huge share of on-going rabbit
health issues, that if you
can possibly raise your bunny as free of these killers as possible it
will live healthier, safer, and longer life.
We literally talk to hundreds of people a day about their rabbit's health problems and the above beliefs come from many years of experience and heart breaking stories from rabbit owners all over the world.

Blessed Thistle Herb
Blessed Thistle is native to Asia and the Mediterranean region and is cultivated in the United States today. It is a thistle with spines like most thistles and gets its name "blessed" because it was considered a cure-all remedy and gift from God in the Middle Ages. It was even considered to be a remedy for helping against the Black Plague.
American herbalists use Blessed Thistle as a female tonic to increase mother's milk and treat painful menstruation. More recently this herb has been shown to help the liver and kidneys and to treat jaundice, hepatitis and arthritis.
If one were to
take this as a tea, it is very bitter and unpleasant. However it is
known that a bitter herb stimulates various organs of the body into
a reflex action, producing various beneficial effects most of the time.
That is why many times the sweeter the herb, the less medicinal benefits
it produces; the more
bitter, the more beneficial medicinal effects.
Pet Medicine Chest uses Blessed Thistle in our Canine Whelping Supplement, the Rabbit Kindling Supplement and the Feline Birthing Supplement because of its ability to help the mother's lactation process in producing more milk for her young.

Wry Neck
We have helped
hundreds of rabbit lovers with the peril of Wry Neck and we know it
works, but it is always best to have our wonderful customers tell their
stories as it "really is". So here is Brenda D.
from Gibsonia, Pa letting us know how her prized and beloved rabbit
who had Wry Neck did.
Hello. Several months ago I ordered ProBac, Systemajuv, and Trace Minerals to treat my bunny who had wry neck. He is cured and I wanted to share his story with you.
Marshmallow's Story
We had a really warm spell with temperatures up in the 60's and 70's for about a week in January. Then one night the temperature plummeted about 30 degrees within just a few hours. The following night I found my prize buck, Marshmallow, with his head leaning to one side. I knew immediately that it was wry neck.
My veterinarian's
office had already closed for the night, so I had to wait until the
next morning to get medicine for him. The Dr. prescribed Batril, the
standard drug for the problem. Marshmallow was not only NOT improving
after 2 days of treatment, but was actually getting worse, so I went
back to the vet. for help.
He prescribed a 14 days of Penicillin shots. These started working right
away, but they made him feel sick and he lost his appetite. I fed him
with a syringe and I had high hopes of Marshmallow completely recovering.
However; he completely relapsed as soon as I stopped giving the shots.
Within 24 hours he was back to
where he started. The vet told me there was nothing else that could
be done.
I remembered seeing
an ad for the Rabbit Medicine Chest in a "Domestic Rabbits"
magazine and decided it was worth a try, even though I was skeptical
of using herbs to treat Marshmallow. ProBac, Systemajuv, and trace minerals
were recommended. I started him on the treatment recipe a couple days
later and saw immediate results. His head was completely straight in
a couple weeks and his appetite improved. He was his normal peppy self
in a couple of months. It took him awhile to completely
recover since he had such a severe case of wry neck, but it was definitely
worth it!
Thank you so much for your products. I thought for sure I would lose Marshmallow, but he is going strong because of your natural herbal remedies that have built him back up again. Thank you! Brenda D., Gibsonia, Pa.
Editor's Note:
The reason why Marshmallow went backwards after the penicillin shots
is because the antibiotics do not solve the problem, they push the problem
deeper into the body. When the antibiotics stop, then the body pushes
the infection OUT of the body in its own natural healing manner. Thus,
people think using antibiotics is the "cure", but actually
it is more of a problem in the vast majority of cases. Drugs
do not "cure", only the body's immune system can "cure".
Herbs facilitate the body's own natural healing abilities and that is
why they work so well with animals. There is nothing like a strong immune
system to overcome illness.
One more thing.....We have found that stress (even weather stress) is the primary culprit in causing a rabbit to suffer from Wry Neck. Many rabbits experience this during the show season and Anxiety Supplement can sure help prevent it.

Ticks
At a family picnic on this past Sunday, several of the little kids who were running around in the nearby woods got one or two ticks on their little bodies. Also one cousin's dog had five ticks on it by the time the day was almost over.
Fortunately, I
had the "Tick Release" in the glove compartment of the car.
This was a true test for all of
us to make sure it really did work. I am delighted to tell you that
every single tick was pulled out of the
children and the dog with its head still attached and not left imbedded
in the skin to cause who knows
what disease.
This email is to
remind all of our customers and readers that those lousy ticks are dangerous,
but they
can be safely removed from a person or pet easily, safely and quickly.
We are really happy we found
out about this product this Spring.

Juniper Berries
Juniper berries are the first of one of the most common species in the pine family. The berries are blue-green in color and are very aromatic.
The medicinal properties of juniper berries are as a diuretic and blood purifier. This herb is especially important for any pet with a urinary or prostrate condition.
Traditionally, juniper berries have been used to treat tape worms, colic, urinary and gastrointestinal infections. Juniper berries are also used as flavoring in meats, baked products and dairy products. The oil from this herb is used in making gin (the alcoholic beverage).
Juniper berry oil also contains disinfectant properties like pine cleaners. The oil can be applied directly to cuts and scrapes much like tea tree oil and for the same bacterial and yeast infections.
One of American's foremost herbalists--Dr. Richard Schultz of California--always recommends juniper berries for those with the inability to urinate such as some cancer patients after dosages of chemotherapy and radiation.
For pets with kidney or bladder stones or other kidney malfunctions, our product Renal A contains this wonderful herb. We always recommend Renal A in order to clear out debris and dissolved stones as a result of cleaning the kidneys and bladder with Renal K.
Renal K is for dissolving those stones and other calcium deposits without subjecting your pet to anesthesia which is very toxic not to mention how the toll surgery will take on your pet's body. Yes, there are safe and effective ways to get rid of kidney stones and it only takes a few days to accomplish.
For your further information, kidney and bladder stones are a result of too LITTLE calcium in the diet. These stones are a result of the body's need for calcium in the diet and the body will take from the bones to "fix itself", however this does cause stones to form in the kidneys.
Absorbable calcium is absolutely critical in your pet's diet in order to prevent kidney and bladder stones from developing. Contrary to some thinking, there is really no such thing as too much calcium in the diet. The body will naturally expel any "too much" if it should somehow happen. With today's unhealthy foods, this is very unlikely.
Once again juniper berry is a blood purifier as it helps eliminate impurities from the blood via the urinary tract. Prudence does not advise using this daily unless one is treating a urinary condition until it is cleared.

Alfalfa Herb
Most all of us animal lovers know or at least have heard about the herb alfalfa. Its history has been recorded as far back as 2000 BC and was known then as "horse fodder".
Alfalfa is know as the "King of Herbs" because so much is under cultivation throughout the world. Our guess is you never thought much about alfalfa sprouts and alfalfa as being any more than food for animals.
Alfalfa has wonderful medicinal qualities specifically for detoxification of the liver and purification of the blood with its diuretic effect. This is accomplished because of the very high chlorophyll (green color) in the fresh herb.
Folk medicine deems alfalfa as a cure for arthritis, rheumatism and all inflammations. Once again history tells us to purify the blood if you want to avoid arthritis type conditions. Impurities (toxins) quickly gravitate to the joints if one doesn't keep the blood clean. Alfalfa is a known wonderful de-toxifier.
Alfalfa also has been shown to be an aid to digestion because it contains the digestive enzyme betaine. This may help explain alfalfa's effect on eliminating ulcers.
Because alfalfa has such a deep tap root (it can go to well over 30 feet deep), alfalfa contains a huge amount of balanced minerals that can be completely utilized by the body immediately. As farm kids we remember using a mow-board plow to turn over the alfalfa when rotating crops and having to use one row less plow in order for the tractor to be able to pull through the deep and huge roots. Alfalfa is truly one of Mother Nature's best crops for helping keep her animals and people healthy.
We use organic alfalfa in several of our remedies-- Botanical Bird Food, Arthritis Supplement, Digestive/Bowel Supplement and Hairball P Supplement because of its detoxifying qualities, and its nutritional/digestive aid properties
We also highly recommend giving all your pets alfalfa sprouts two or more times a week to help keep them healthy. Just add to the food you are providing.

Bone Set Herb
The Bone Set Herb comes from the marshes of the Eastern half of the United States and Canada. This herb was used by the Native Americans to assist in the healing of broken bones and aches and pains of the skeletal system.
In addition, Boneset (spelled this way too) was used to assist with fevers associated with influenza, respiratory allergies, chills, bruises and urinary tract infections.
Boneset is used in our Super Vita Chick product as an aid in growing and maintaining a strong skeletal structure. This has also been shown to aid the animal suffering from broken bone trauma with resulting bruising and inflammation or swelling.
This herb is high in magnesium which helps with more calcium absorption promoting stronger bones.

Dandelion Herb
Dandelion is probably the most known herb in the world. It is said to have originated in Western Europe and in the Mediterranean.
The medicinal properties of the dandelion herb are numerous, however American herbalists use this herb primarily for its blood purifying abilities and diuretic effects.
Folk medicine in Greece says to use the leaves and flowers in salads and teas in the spring to cleanse the body of the winter's toxic accumulations.
Chinese medicine uses dandelion root as a tonic and as a diuretic to treat liver and spleen ailments.
Dandelion is known to cleanse the blood and increase bile production and is taken for anemia, jaundice, gout, arthritis, rheumatism and other toxic conditions.
At Pet Medicine Chest, we use dandelion primarily because of its blood cleansing properties and its very high and well balanced mineral contents. Dandelion is particularly high in potassium and Vitamin A.
We use dandelion in our Hemotox remedy which removes chemicals from the body's filtering systems (liver, kidneys and lungs) and the blood supply. Used in conjunction with Metaltox, the blood is then cleaned and can carry the good nutrition you are providing to repair the body's cells the way nature intended it to happen.

Infertility in Animals
Those of you who get and read our regular mail newsletters (this is a customers only perk) know that we champion feeding your beloved pet clean wholesome food. Clean wholesome food in our opinion means the food does not contain any chemicals, antibiotics, or hormones of any sort, and should contain no genetically modified organisms.
What are genetically modified organisms or GMO's as they are called? GMO's are an aberration of nature whereby scientists take the DNA of one species and put it into the DNA of another.
For example, putting fish DNA into a tomato. Putting human DNA into chickens which is currently being done and frankly, is a form of cannibalism. For what reason is this "Frankenstein science" being done? We don't know why this so called science is being done, but we do know that this type of "science" was done in Nazi Germany. So you give some thought to this situation.
In an article in "Acres USA, Feb. 2003, a lady who was in the process of having certified organic chickens and beef noticed her 240 hens were only producing 20 eggs a day. She did some herbal and homeopathic support, but that only doubled production to 40 eggs a day. By the way, a hen should lay one egg a day fertilized or not fertilized in good weather.
She called the feed mill that prepared her hens food and learned that the corn in the chicken feed was all of the genetically engineered variety.
Immediately she ordered the feed mill to mix her feed with ONLY GMO free chicken grain. Her hens immediately began giving her over 200 eggs a day. Additionally the broilers she raises are no longer scrawny, pale and meatless.
It is stories like these that we hear and read over and over that indicate how extremely important clean wholesome nutrition is if one wants health and vitality for their birds, cats, dogs, rabbits and family.
The starving masses throughout the world even refuse this Frankenstein food offered by America. Even China has kept a lid on their imports of this questionable "nutrition".
If this is the
case, then where are the American food companies going with this food?
You are right, into stomachs of American consumers and their pets. If
your are having fertility problems with your pets, you might want to
examine their nutrition
very closely.
Parasites and People
In a book titled "Essaic, A Native Herbal Cancer Remedy", it was sited that in 1993 the WHO statistics revealed that 16.4 million people died of parasites and infectious diseases. It went on to say that in 1994, 1.5 billion people died of parasites and infectious diseases and that over 500 million children are infected with parasites.
A lady by the name of Hulda Clark, Ph.D, N.D. recently wrote a book titled "The Cure For All Cancers" in which she states that all cancers stem from parasitic flukes and exposure to chemicals used in common household products. Her treatment regimen calls for removing the source of cancers and then allowing the body to heal itself. By the way, you can obtain her book at the major book stores or on the internet.
It is a known fact that people with pets of all kinds are exposed to more parasites than those without pets. This is primarily due to the fact of the animals being low to ground and the time they spend outdoors. Parasites also come from the food and water animals ingest.
Most of us tend to giggle when we talk about us ourselves having parasites. However, it is a very serious consideration because these parasites give off toxins and deplete our own nutritional uptake. These toxins can and will go on to cause cancers of all types.
Maybe we pet lovers better get rid of our parasites right along with our precious pets if we want health and vitality also. That is food for thought today.
Worm-Out/Terra Cleanse Recipe
One of the things about our great customers is that they share what they have found to work in their endeavor to keep their beloved pets healthy and well.
This recipe comes from a rabbit lover who has had great success in the control of parasites such as flies, mites, fleas, worms, etc. while at the same time maintaining an extremely clean, safe environment for her rabbits.
She combined two of our leading remedies--Worm-Out and Terra Cleanse into one application and is astonished at the great results and at the same time, saving her hours and hours of work. Several of our other bird people, cat people and dog people are using this same recipe for their homes and kennels and cages and are having great results too.
Here is her proven recipe:
1 Gallon of fresh
non-chlorinated water
1 Tablespoon of Terra Cleanse
4 Tablespoons of Worm-Out
Mix well in a clean garden hand pump gallon bottle that you can buy at the garden center. When you pump it, you build the pressure.
Clean kennel or cages with a hose and brush first to remove the majority of the dirt and rinse well with the hose.
Spray the mix all over the kennel area. " I love Terra Cleanse because it doesn't poison the food and you don't have to worry about the animals licking it off.
When the spray dries the full drying effects of Worm-Out come into play and it's all over the kennel without damaging. We found this really helps with fly control."
Editor's Note----we recommend you spray this same recipe the night before you actually clean and let the microbes work overnight and loosen the dirt and whatever else is there. Then come back the next day to really do the hose and brush stuff on the cages or kennels. Then follow her recipe to a T and we'll bet you are as happy as she is with her discovery.
We all want a safe clean environment for our pets and ourselves, but none of us want to be slaves to this idea. Using the above recipe has really saved us and lots of our customers a ton of time and effort.
We thought you
might want to think about that especially with our Spring Special going

At Pet Medicine
Chest, we use the leaves of this plant in our remedies concerning the
topic of giving birth and
laying eggs and the mother's well being.
Red raspberry tea
from the leaves is also known to be good for diarrhea, canker sores
and promotes healthy
bones, teeth and skin.
Red raspberry leaves are used in our birthing assistance remedies. These have been shown to help with toning and strengthening the uterus, the birthing canal and the egg tract in preparation for giving birth or laying eggs. It has also been known to reduce the pain of giving birth and to prevent egg bound conditions when used two weeks before and all during the breeding season.

Spring Cleaning Safely
We thought we better get this out as spring is either here or almost here in most parts of the country. Thoroughly cleaning the house, aviary, kennels etc. after a long winter seems to be on everyone's agenda.
It used to be that one had only chemical cleaning agents to choose from in order to get rid of bacteria, virus, algae and fungus. Everyone had to remove their little pets completely OUT of their area into a safe well-ventilated area to keep them from breathing in the toxic/lethal chemicals. This became such a task, that some of us became a little lax in our environmental hygiene.
Great news at last---you don't have to kick every pet out of the house/room. Now, you can actually clean your pet's area safely and thoroughly without disrupting your pet's environment and routine and still get its place absolutely clean!
How? We have the tools you need----bacteria eaters, smell eaters, fungus eaters and even virus eaters. To top it off, you already know about these, but we thought we better refresh your memory this spring.
First, Terra Cleanse. Although the name suggests being outside (terra meaning earth), this wonderful 60 something year old organic cleaning tool is used to mist your pet's entire area the day before the "big cleaning job".
Misting Terra Cleanse and then letting the bacteria work overnight will loosen the dried feces and other stuck debris on cages, kennels, litter boxes. At the same time it will help eliminate virus, algae, bacteria and fungus that has accumulated over the past several weeks.
The best part is you can mist Terra Cleanse right onto your little pet---your bird or dog or cat or rabbit and even their food and water without having to think twice. It is absolutely safe and in fact, beneficial when sprayed onto your pet. This helps get pathogens directly off your pet too.
The next day come in with soap and water and Terra Cleanse or Citra Solv, a brush and a sponge and your clean-up will be much easier if not a breeze.
Then when you are all finished, mist some more Terra Cleanse onto the area you just cleaned and the good bacteria will continue to work for the next several days. This will help to further "sterilize" the area even though your pet is now back at "home".
Second, Citra Solv.
We use this wonderful, terrific smelling cleaner all around the office
and in our homes. It
gives floors and countertops a shine you have to see to believe and
with very little effort. What a grease cutter!!!
Now, you certainly can keep your human and pet family's home safe and sanitized without the ravages of chemicals. This change will do your pet's and your family almost as much good as fresh home cooked nutrition. Eliminating chemicals as much as possible makes all the difference in the world in a pet's health.
We have hundreds of customers using these techniques and saving tons of effort and labor and time for themselves. We thought we better share this information with everyone this spring so you can spend more time out enjoying the fresh air and fresh energy. It gets more meaningful as life gets more and more busy.

Chemical Free Lawns/Gardens
With Spring almost
in the air, it's once again getting exciting to be alive to enjoy the
beauty that only
spring can bring.
Finally, Americans
are becoming aware that lawn chemicals are lethal to themselves, their
children and
their beloved pets. Cancer is rampant and has touched every single family
in America. Finally people
are waking up to the root cause of all the ill health in the world today.
Chemical cocktails are the leading
culprit.
But, no one had
the tools available to help Americans have a bountiful, insect-free
garden or lawn. We had
to rely on the chemical companies to "help" us or so we thought.
Now the tools are
available. Now the task of getting this organic/natural information
out to the public is
becoming easier and easier because people have had enough.
Their pets are
dying way too young. Their children are sickly and are now believed
to be the first generation
to have a shorter life span than their parents. We are witnessing what
nutritional degradation is doing to
us. It is past time to wake up and finally it is happening.
The key to health
is clean (chemical-free) wholesome nutrition. Now you have the opportunity
to have
chemical free nutrition right in your own back yard. And you have the
tools available to help you. Please
go to this page and read more, you will glad you did:
http://www.petmedicinechest.com/Lawns/lawns_naturally.htm
It's a lot more
fun to be fooling in your garden and back yard than it is being in or
visiting someone dear
in a hospital. If we all just figure out what is going on, we will have
healthier pets and people. It will be pleasant
when this all comes about. It just takes some thinking.

Spring
is almost here, so we are closing out our Winter "Boost the Immune
System" Special at midnight on
Sunday March 20, 2005.
With the still cold nights and warm days, the immune system is vigorously called upon to support and keep your little pet healthy and happy.
Changing weather
conditions tend to cause all kinds of health problems, so it might be
a good idea to make
sure your baby keeps a strong immune system going until the weather
finally stabilizes.
The immune system is the single most important system in the body. Without a strong immune system all of us, including our pets, are subject to very poor health.
How do you develop a strong immune system?
1. Wholesome fresh
nutrition.
2. Restful sleep.
3. Reduce stress.
4. Support the system with proper supplementation.
Boosting the immune system is accomplished pretty much in this order
too. We thought we better remind you.

HOW LONG WILL YOUR HERBS and POWDERS LAST?
There is an expiration
date on all the labels of the tinctures and powders of Pet Medicine
Chest Products. Normally these dates are five to six years out from
the date they
were bottled. Many people have asked "does that mean these products
are no good, or in fact, could be harmful to my pet?"
From our research
and experience if the powders are perfectly dry and have been kept in
a climate controlled
environment (like your home), then these can last a few years longer
and can still be beneficial for your pet.
Think about it, minerals in the earth have been there since time began, so these can last "forever". The vitamins may be less potent because our vitamins are plant based and these may be out of some of their potency. In any event, the powders should be safe for your baby.
If the tinctures
have been properly stored--in a box in the cupboard, away from artificial
lights and sun light,
and for certain a minimum of six feet away from any microwave, then
these liquid tinctures can last twenty
years or so just like a good liqueur.
It is for this
reason that we use alcohol to preserve our remedies. The absolute worst
thing we could do is
have the herbs spoil inside the bottle. Spoilage of this nature creates
a toxin that can kill an animal or person
in only a few hours. Under no circumstances have we ever, nor do we
ever want to kill a person's little pet.
It always amuses
us when a Vet who administers lethal poisons such as their worming products
and steroids on a daily basis "advises their client that alcohol
is harmful to a pet". What about those chemicals? Come on
now, lets get real.
Herbal alcohol
based products are not harmful to a pet if one uses the remedy according
to instructions. If
someone were to deliberately give a huge amount of alcohol to a pet,
that is extremely dangerous, the same
as excessive alcohol is dangerous to a human being.
Now, a question
for you. The remedies won't work in a bottle, why aren't you using them
for your pet? Don't
put things away in a cupboard. Bring them out and get going and keep
your little pal healthy!
CASCARA SAGRADA HERB
Cascara Sagrada
(Rhamnus purshiana) comes from a deciduous tree that is native to the
Pacific
Coast of North America from California to British Columbia.
The part of this
tree that is use for medicinal purposes is the bark. It is dried for
a year or longer, then used
in tinctures, teas and powdered form.
Cascara Sagrada
acts on the large intestine by increasing peristaltic action (normal
intestinal motion)
causing the intestinal walls to gently move and dislodge the blockage
or feces. Removing the blocked feces
serves as a detoxifying agent to help cleanse the body.
From our vast experience,
using this Cascara Sagrada herb has saved hundreds of pets from the
invasive
perils of surgical procedures merely to remove a blockage. Experience
has shown that usually
within twelve to twenty-four hours a blockage can be moved and eliminated
from the body.
In birds, a blockage
is called impaction. In cats and rabbits, it is normally called a hairball
problem. In
dogs a blockage can cause the stomach to turn over and kill the dog
within only a few hours. Thus the
importance of keeping a pet's bowels well stocked with good bacteria
to promote good digestion and
fibrous foods for easy elimination.
At Pet Medicine
Chest, we use this valuable herb in two ways. One, a small amount in
powdered form
is added to psyllium, senna, flax and other herbs.
This is then sprinkled
or added in to the pets regular food as a digestive aid for those pets
prone to
blockages or who have a history of hairballs and/or stomach problems.
For rabbits, we call this remedy
Hairball P Supplement.
Two, for immediate
relief of a blockage or hairball, we have Cascara Sagrada in liquid
or tincture form.
The reason for this liquid form is to by-pass the digestive system and
get it into the blood stream as
quickly as possible. You can do this by squirting the tincture directly
into your pet's mouth. The blood will
take the liquid to the muscles of the intestinal tract and start the
peristaltic action in a matter of minutes.
This remedy is what we use when a pet is currently suffering from a
blockage or impaction of feces. For rabbits we call this remedy Hairball
Supplement L.
Once the blockage
is cleared through and out of the body, we recommend using the powdered
herbals
called Hairball P Supplement daily for a good week or two to help thoroughly
clean the intestines. Once the
animal is back to normal, then using the powdered herbs may be advisable
two or three days a week,
especially if your pet is prone to hairballs.
The liquid tincture-Hairball
Supplement L---should be used infrequently and only for an existing
problem as
it can cause potassium and other mineral losses if used too regularly.
The key to keeping
your pet from suffering is to use the powdered fibrous herbs--Hairball
Supplement P--
frequently and provide plenty of fibrous fresh vegetables and fruits
on a daily basis.

HEART CLEANING and STRENGTHENING
You have probably
gotten our notice about the "Sweetheart Special". Several
people have
called and emailed questions asking things like: "Can you really
remove plaque from the heart
and arteries? How does this really work? How come more people don't
know about this?" Is
this good for people too?
In the 1940's Chelation
Therapy was developed in Europe to melt the plaque and debris that is
built up in the cardiovascular system and to prevent people from having
heart attacks due to
clogged and/or blocked arteries. There is a whole lot of information
on this topic at this
website if you want more information on people and this alternative
procedure to by-pass surgery.
http://www.ofspirit.com/chelation.htm
From our experience,
we have found that cleaning the heart by dissolving the plaque and
debris in the veins and arteries is successful in most of the cases
that we are familiar. The aging
process would not be reversed, but it seems to really help an animal
become more healthy.
Their blood becomes less thick and it moves more easily within the body,
thus giving the
pet more energy and vitality.
Can the heart be
strengthened? Absolutely yes. The heart is merely a pump muscle. Like
all
muscles, they can be rebuilt if given the proper nutrition, exercised
carefully and in a methodical
manner without adding any further stress. Stress such as edema (excessive
water build up in the
body) can and will put stress on the heart in its effort to remove the
water from the body.
To rebuild the
heart takes a coordinated effort of good nutrition (including raw or
cooked heart)
in the home made diet, mild daily exercise, lots of rest, nutritional
supplementation in the form
of specific herbs for aiding the heart, CoQ10 (an enzyme for aiding
the heart discovered in
the 1950's) and minerals and vitamins. If these requirements are met,
a pet can regain a
healthy heart.
Contrary to popular
opinion, the heart is NOT the most important organ in the body. An
animal or person could live with an artificial heart, but a person or
animal cannot live
without a liver. In fact, most heart conditions are caused by a contaminated,
congested liver. This is another reason why we recommend cleaning the
liver every six
months once it is cleaned initially.
If your aging pet
shows signs of heart failure, make sure the heart is not being taxed
by an
edema condition, then get busy and cook fresh home made food for your
loyal friend.
Add in the nutritional supplements that are essential to quickly restore
the cells in the heart.
Clean and build its heart at the same time.
It can work, we have seen it many times.

Specials are located on this page:

RAISINS and PETS
We have addressed this issue before, but recently some concerned pet lovers have read that a local veterinarian has once again published an article stating that raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs, cats and ferrets.
What is our take on this? Raisins are dried grapes. Grapes are some of the most heavily chemically sprayed fruits in existence. When a heavily sprayed fruit is dried down into a highly compact piece as raisins are, so too do the chemicals on these grapes become highly concentrated.
When a pet ingests
this chemically laced poison, then any kidney failure and liver failure
as well as any serious
illness can happen. Poison is poison and poison will normally attack
either the nervous system or the kidneys first.
Our retort is that chemical-free grapes in and of themselves are not harmful to a pet or humans for that matter. In fact organic grapes and organic raisins are the only raisins we use for our own pets and would ever recommend for our customer's pets. For years, we have fed our pets organic raisins as treats and have never ever had any pet ever get sick from grapes or raisins. In fact the fiber in grapes and raisins are good for helping keep the colon clean plus the antioxidants in the grapes are good for an animal's heart.
We do believe that chemically sprayed fruits of all kinds are harmful to all animals and humans. The chemicals are what cause kidney and liver failure (among other fatal ailments), not the grapes. People who drink a lot of regular (not organic) wine are also in danger of kidney and liver failure due to the amount of chemicals that are sprayed on the grapes during the growing season.
As with anything else a diet consisting of just one fruit whether fresh or dried is not that good for any pet. Fresh variety of fruits and vegetables---key word being fresh--- are the secrets to robust health and vitality.
To summarize----buy organic grapes and raisins and both you and your pet eat and enjoy them together.
THE FENNEL HERB
The herb Fennel (Faeniculum vulagare) is considered to be a native of the Mediterranean region, primarily Italy, and is now cultivated world wide.
The
dried seed is the part that is most commonly used for foods and what
we use in our products dealing
with digestive system disorders.
The
medicinal quality of fennel includes aiding mild gastro intestinal troubles,
as an aid in treating flatulence
and in aiding over-all digestion. Additionally fennel has been known
to treat upper respiratory conditions.
The oils in fennel have been shown to have a microbial effect
Fennel
is used in many foods, meats, baked goods and in certain expensive liqueurs.
Most all Italian
sausage contains fennel which gives it its distinctive flavor and pleasant
taste.
The
remedies for which we use the herb fennel deal with digestive problems
in a rabbit. We have found that
sprinkling powdered fennel, along with psyllium and senna, on your rabbit's
food can help prevent a rabbit from straining and/or constipation and/or
flatulence and/or hairball problems and help clear out the digestion
system of old dried toxic waste and debris. Thus the herbs indeed can
aid with gastro intestinal disruption.
This remedy we call Hairball Supplement P.
If
your rabbit is experiencing flatulence, constipation, hairball complications,
dry feces causing fissures and
fistulas conditions, please go to this page to help your best little
friend.

BRRRR! WINTER STRESS ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
It certainly has been unseasonably cold, snowy or rainy and miserable in most areas of the country this winter as you most already know. If you have caught a cold or the flu, you can most definitely pass this virus on to your little pets.
With limited sunshine every day, with cold feet, with cold rains, with the heating systems blowing day in and day out, the winter in and of itself plays havoc with our pets and their health too.
At this stage of the winter, it would be a good idea to give your pets an immune system boost. Save your pet from the agony of a cold or the flu and save your time and money by not having to take your pet to the vet. Remember the immune system is the ONLY system that heals the body. A strong immune system is a must if you want your pet (and you) to enjoy a "illness-free" winter.
Thankfully, you can now save your little one's health and your hard earned money with our "Winter Immune Boost Package".

MORE IMMUNE SUPPRESSANTS
All of us rabbit lovers need to be aware of chemicals, drugs and unhealthy situations that can lead to the suppression of the immune system.
Among
the more common drugs involved in suppressing the immune system are:
steroids and cortisone
preservatives in pet food
live and modified vaccines
antibiotics
antihistamines
drugs for parasites control--both internal and external
There are occasions where a drug may be necessary to "get a handle" on the life threatening condition. As soon as possible, it would be prudent to re-stimulate and support the precious immune system with the healing energy of herbs.
Remember, it is the immune system that actually does any healing.
There
are also other means of boosting and supporting the immune system. These
are:
Massage therapy especially of the lymph system
Raw and/or organic cooked foods and vegetables
Probiotics
Trace Minerals and Natural Vitamins
Plenty of Rest
About
the lymph system--this very important system actually scrubs the toxins
out of the cells and tissues and organs. It empties the toxins into
the colon where they are then excreted from the body. If you massage
this delicate system, be sure to use a very light touch. Ask your Vet
for a diagram of your
pet's lymph system for more information.
Interesting information to think about.

IMMUNE SYSTEM SUPPRESSANTS/TOXINS
As you know, we recommend over and over and over to boost the immune system in order to prevent an animal from getting sick and to heal the pet if it is currently sick.
Could water be one of the problems? In our environment in which we ALL live, there literally are thousands of chemicals that our pets (and we ourselves) are exposed to every single day.
Recently in an article from Wildfire Vol. 6 No. 1 from several years ago, Dr. Gary Glum--the author of "Calling of An Angel", stated that "nationwide in the water we drink over 2,100 organic and inorganic chemicals have been identified and 156 of them are pure carcinogens, 26 of these are tumor promoting.
Cleaning our pet's blood on a regular basis by removing chemicals with Hemotox and heavy metals with Metaltox might be even more important than our Doctors originally thought over thirty years ago.
The book "Calling
of an Angel" is about a lady--Rene Caisse from upstate New York
who saved herself from cancer in the 1920's using an old time American
Indian herbal recipe. This book can be obtained
from Amazon.com. Rene Caisse saved her own health, then went on to help
cure thousands of people with cancer, using this same recipe.
You can read more about Rene and her recipe in "Essiac, A Native Herbal Cancer Remedy" by Cynthia Olsen. The book can be purchased from Kali Press, Pagosa Springs, Colorado (970) 264-5200.
This recipe is the same recipe we use in our Sarcoma Supplement for
helping with cancerous conditions of all sorts.

CHIROPRACTORS AND PETS
Every week we answer one or more questions that deal with a pet's inability to walk that came on suddenly. The word suddenly is important as compared to a gradual decline in mobility due to say arthritis or slow poisoning (toxicities).
Usually where there is a sudden problem, it almost always involves a disk problem or spinal problem of some sort. In a sudden case, we highly recommend one contact their local chiropractor and ask if they work on animals. If the answer is yes, then take the injured pet immediately.
If the answer is no, then ask if they know a fellow chiropractor in the area or just keep calling from the yellow pages. A chiropractor can normally fix disk slippage and vertebrate problems in pets in no time at all and usually with just one visit. There are chiropractors who work specifically on large animals such as horses as their sole practice.
Most people respond with "Gee, I never thought of that! My pet is now back to normal and it didn't cost me a fortune either, thanks for the suggestion". "Nor did my pet have to be "put down". Most everyone is eternally grateful.
Pass this email on to a friend who might have a pet suffering from a sudden vertebrate problem.

LICORICE ROOT
Besides being a delicious candy, licorice root has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries in China, India and North America. Licorice is native to both the Eastern and Western world in the warmer temperate climates.
Hippocrates liked licorice root for its sweetness and its ability to alleviate thirst at the same time.
The medicinal properties of licorice are many and varied. In fact, the Chinese herbalist used licorice in most of their preparations as it was known as a "harmonizing" herb---one that facilitates the body to absorb the other herbs in a preparation.
Licorice has expectorant qualities, as well as soothing, demulcent qualities thus its inclusion in cough drops, cough syrups, lozenges. It also helps with stomach conditions including heartburn.
In China licorice is used for the treatment of gastric ulcers. bronchial asthma, infectious hepatitis, malaria, diabetes and dermatitis.
In North America, licorice root is used in inflammatory disorders like arthritis, skin diseases like dermatitis and liver disease.
Licorice is used in our Arthritis Supplement because of its assistance with inflammation and with its ability to assist in stimulating the immune system and its harmonizing abilities of blending glucosamine, CMO, MSM, yucca root, turmeric, alfalfa and our other herbs in this arthritis remedy.

YUCCA ROOT
Yucca is native
to the Southwestern part of the United States primarily in the Mojave
Desert and Mexico. The Native Americans used the yucca plant's root
as a sudsy shampoo and soap. Today yucca root is an
ingredient in some natural root beers where it is used to create the
foam when you pour it. It is also used in natural shampoos for its sudsy
effect.
The medicinal qualities of yucca root is known to break up obstructions such as inflammation in arthritic joints and rheumatism and gout.
Because of these medicinal qualities this wonderful herb is in our arthritis remedies.
For humans, the yucca root has also been used for helping women cope with menopausal conditions.
Research has now
shown that yucca helps with stimulating friendly intestional flora,
which in turn aids in the absorption of nutritional factors and decreases
the amount of toxins that may be aborbed from the
digestive system. There would be less poisons which may build up in
the joints thus causing degenerative diseases like arthritis and rheumatism.
Arthritis is a manifestation of toxic conditions in the body.
Here again, our philosophy of cleaning the blood (de-toxing) and removing toxins are a critical component of preventing and reversing arthritic conditions. Yucca has clearly been shown to help.

PET'S PERSONALTIY CHANGE:
Several times a
week we get calls and emails from people telling us that their once
sweet, loving, affectionate pet has turned into a grumpy or worse yet--a
mean little brat. Of course they want to know why this has happened
and what they might do about it.
From our experience, anytime a pet changes its behavior toward the negative,
this pet is telling you something. It is telling you that it just does
not feel good and that something is wrong. It is really asking for help
and looking for you to help it.
Birds, tend to bite, dogs to growl or snarl, cats and rabbits tend to
be just plain grumpy. As you know every animal just like people has
their own personality, so they will do behavior that is not normal for
their personality.
Just like people, when we get sick, we get grumpy and hard to live with
too. What would we do in this case?
We would most likely get our pet looked at by a good holistic Vet and
see if there is something really serious
going on.
As soon as we have discounted life threatening situations, we would
quickly boost the pet's immune system and balance the flora in its system.
In addition, the pet would get special home fixed meals. For birds,
we would include fresh sprouts and fresh organic greens. For cats and
dogs, fresh cooked natural or organic meats and vegetables with gravy
made from the drippings. For rabbits, fresh chemical free greens like
spinach and dandelions.
With this approach in following Socrates and Aristole's quotations "Let
your food be your medicine and your
medicine be your food", good wholesome nutrition can certainly
help bring your pet around. These foods in and of themselves will help
boost the immune system.
We have to share this story: We have a good friend in Kentucky who has
some nice ostrich hens and one male.
One of the hens was our farmer friend's favorite because she was such
a loving big bird. Our farmer noticed that she was not coming to him
like she always did and after a two week period, she did not come to
him at all.
He thought this was quite unusual, so on this particular day when she
was at the far end of the pen, he walked out to her. He got about half
way there when she came charging at him and knocked him off balance
and to the ground. Then she started kicking the heck out of him.
Our farmer was able to roll to the edge of the fence and get under a
feeder that was hanging on the fence. This feeder saved him and he was
able to get away from her dangerous feet.
He called us to tell us about this incident and asked us what on earth
happened to his favorite bird. We told him she must not be feeling well
and we suggested giving her Systemajuv and ProBac Adult in her food
and water until she turned around.
Well, she never turned around. In fact she died. Our farmer had a necropsy
done on her and found a nail
was protuding from her intestines. Apparently what happened was the
waste in her body was leaking into
her entire internal body causing toxic poisoning which caused her death.
Obviously this is why the hen's
personality changed and she became mean to the point of almost kiilling
her care giver.
There have been other incidents like this with other pet's personality
changes, but none quite this drastic to
want to kill their owner. If you see this happening to your beloved
pet, get it checked out (diagnosed) at the Vet's office, then go after
the problem with Mother Nature's remedies like Systemajuv which builds
the immune system and ProBac Adult that balances the body flora.
If your pet has
been diagnosed with a virus, or a poison, or any other health problem,
you most likely can get your pet back to health using Mother Nature's
wonderful remedies and your good nutrition. Call or email us for your

VALLEY
FEVER:
Wow, this week
we have been deluged with calls for help with Valley Fever.
Valley Fever is a very serious toxicity condition that has been known
to kill many animals of all species in the Arizona area. Valley Fever
is a deadly compilation of toxic chemicals that flood the atmosphere.
All living
creatures in that area breath in these chemicals of course. Ultimately
these chemicals end up falling to the ground where the little animals
walk and now it gets further absorbed into their little bodies. Dogs
are especially prone to this malady because they have to spend so much
time outside doing their business.
Arizona people label it as Valley Fever. In other areas of the country
it is known as smog. Whatever the label, it is ultimately a serious
health problem for animals first and people second.
To save pets in this area, our solution-----
1. Clean the body of these toxic chemicals with Hemotox and Metaltox.
2. Boost the immune system with Systemajuv and ProBac Adult.
Results:

FLAX SEED:
Flax is an ancient herb that comes from the Mediterranean. This herb has been used to make breads and other culinary pursuits for centuries.
The oil from flax has omega 3 Essential Fatty Acid properties that have been shown to lower cholesterol and blood pressure. One of our mothers here has found that eating organic oatmeal containing flax seed two or three times weekly combined with three to six gel capsules of flax seed oil daily has brought her dangerously high cholesterol reading to normal.
Her regiment took her four weeks and she has maintained her good readings and new good habit.
Flax seed is one the ingredients that is used in our products of Digestive/Bowel Aid for dogs, Botanical Bird Food and Impacted Bird Herbal for birds, and Hairball P for cats and rabbits.
Flax seed contains mucilage (fiberous and expansive) properties which help with digestion and colon/elimination problems helping save an older rabbit's dignity. Flax seed is a good source of B vitamins, protein and zinc.
Additionally flax seed promotes, nails, bones, teeth and healthy gums due to it gelatinous properties. If a rabbit has gum and teeth problems, flax seed would be an excellent additive to its diet in order for the body to have the ingredients to repair itself.

YOUR POWERS OF OBSERVATION:
One of the keys to keeping our pets healthy is our own power of observation of our pet's behavior.
We Americans are a busy lot and are running faster and faster just to keep the wolf away from the door. In so doing, lots of us lose perspective of what really does count--our family and our pets.
The holistic approach to pet health is to prevent problems before they get started. All of you know how we recommend good home cooked or raw food and boosting the immune system.
Still, there are times when a little guy or girl just isn't up to par just like we people experience from time-to-time. If you catch these less active days of your pet early, by keen observation, you might be able to short circuit a problem by a quick boost to the immune system with healing herbs and probiotics.
Suppose you do treat your little patient with herbs and probiotics and the little one still is not responding. Provide that good clean wholesome nutrition we have talked about and up the frequency and amount of herbs you are giving. If your little patient still isn't responding right, better take your pet to a vet for a thorough exam.
Experience has shown that taking the time to closely observe your little pal's normal daily habits can give you a "heads up" on potential health problems.
Just a thought that might hit home!!
