ODONTOGLOSSUM / MILTONIA
The Dutch have used the term Cambria orchid to describe this orchid group. This refers to the English hybrid bred in the 1930's named Vuylstekeara Cambria, it is better to used the establisted English term for Odontoglossum types.
Height:12" - 5'
Flowers:Normally single spikes are produced although sometimes large mature Plants will produce several. Plants can last in flower up to 5 - 7 weeks. Peak flowering late Autumn / Winter, and late spring.
Temperature:Night 10 - 15 c
Watering:Allow the compost to almost dry out between thorough waterings. Never stand in excess water.
Feeding:Fertiliser at quarter strength with 3 waterings, then water only the fourth time, to ensure any harmful salts are leached from the compost.
Humidity:Standing the plant on a pebble tray which is kept moist will create a micro climate around the plant, and assist with plant growth.
