 If
you were
shocked when you first saw how Rayman looked like in
his 3D incarnation, wait till you see Rayman3.
| Rayman1
and Rayman2 | Rayman2 and Rayman3 |
|
Rayman2
- He had two floppy fronds of
hair.
- The nose was rounder and slightly larger.
- Rayman had a neckerchief.
- The shadow coloring for Rayman's hands were grayish.
- His shoes were more or less like the trainers he wore in the first game.
|
Rayman3
- He now has two furry and floppy fronds of
hair.
- His nose became more "boxy" in shape. His eyeballs were merged into a single eyeball, sorta like how Sonic the Hedgehog's eyes were drawn. He also has bigger cheekbones.
- His 'kerchief was changed to a sort of hood with strings attached.
- The shadow coloring for Rayman's hands were changed to purplish pink for that more
revitalized look.
- The shoes!! A lot of people have argued that Ubi Soft should have stuck to the original yellow-and-white trainers, but either way, they swapped his shoes for a cool, high-tech kinda look, with what-the-hey-are-those red spots replacing the white circles.

Old
Rayman
-
Rayman had three
fronds of hair: two in the front, and one at the back.
-
Rayman was your
typical bug-eyed hero.
-
His
body was a sphere.
-
The
white part that made up the sole and the front was pretty tiny.
-
His
hands were pudgy.
-
He
wasn't much of a talker.
-
He used to drown every time he touched water.
-
He had to gain his powers one by one, and after
every world.
-
You had to free all the captives in order
to access the last level.

New Rayman
Soft
introduced Rayman's back-of-the-head.
His eyes were re-modeled to look more
"realistic". His pupils were also slightly smaller to
reduce that "baby-effect" look.
His
body was elongated slightly. Also, the white ring became more of
an oblong shape.
The
white part became more noticeable. Also, his shoe structure became
more dome-shaped.
YOU
WANNA HOLD HIS HANDS!!
He
talks, and man, how cute he sounds!
He could swim. Finally!
He gets
all his powers at the start of the game.
You can access the last level
without having to save all the captives.
