Gary :

Andrew Batten:

Age: 36

Position: Midfielder

Nickname: Burnsy, Montgomery

Squad Number: 12

A real Real original, Andy has been around the block. Three times. In fact he gives guided tours of the block for people who are considering going round it.

He loves the ball at his feet, so much so that he neglects to pass it to a team-mate most of the time. Like some others (the Captain, the Streak, Bubble) he is a little short of full fitness, but never gives less than 100%. His own harshest critic, he hasn't quite had the impact this season that he knows he is capable of, but on the plus side he has a very nice car. His main hobby is avoiding drinking with anyone who plays for Real Beckenham.

Jamie Beardsworth:

Age: 28 Position: Midfielder/Winger Nickname: TBC Squad Number: 40 Jamie is another of our recently arrived South African connection. Yet another midfielder/winger who can beat players and deliver good crosses.

Warren Benwell:

Age: 28 Position: Defence/Midfield Nickname: Wozza/Crouchy Squad Number: 11 Wozza burst on to the RBFC scene back in season 2002/03 with some amazing displays from the right wing, that saw him score 7 goals in his first 4 games! Not surprisingly he was named as best new signing, but in recent seasons Wozza has been asked to play in a whole host of positions and as such we haven't seen him at his best, but this week he got to play in his preferred position and proved a point by scoring a cracking goal and providing the crosses for a couple more!

John Bird:

Age: 25 Position: Winger/Forward Nickname: Birdy Squad Number: 15 Birdy is another one of RBFC's ultra versatile players and has been a golden boot winner when playing up front, has also helped keep numerous clean sheets when playing at the back, but is probably at his best in the middle of the park along side his 'good friend' Badger.

Kenny Boyle:

Jay Brook:

Age 28 Position: Defence/Midfield/Forward Supports: Squad Number: 8 A new signing for '07/'08, Jay joined RBFC from former rivals AFC Hayes, and he's already played in several positions, proving his versality. He's already formed a bond with his new team mates, referring to many of them with the loving term 'gayboy'! Jay has also placed bets with most of the team that he will be top scorer this season, and should he do it, I don't think anyone will be able to handle the gloating at the ebnd of season do!

Darren Butland:

Age: 20 Position: Forward Nickname: Boyband Squad Number: 19 Dazza started life at RBFC as a keeper, and despite some horror shows, he played fairly well throughout the season. Then one day he decided to have a go at playing as a striker and become one of the club's greatest ever surprises with some amazing performances up front.

Mike Casserly:

Age: 28? Position: Defence/Midfield Nickname: Mr Magoo Squad Number: 34 Mike shows up every week, even though he often works through the night and comes to games having not slept!! He is solid in the tackle, and has played for both the firsts and the seconds this season.

Paul Cobbold:

Age: 23? Position: Defender/Midfielder Nickname: The Wanderer Squad Number: 29

Paul prefers midfield, but with the shortage of defenders at the club, he's helped out a lot this season at the back, but still manages to sneak forward and get the odd important goal!

Dave Cox:

Age: 32 Position: Forward Nickname: Coxy Squad Number: 32 Dave is Real Beckenham's highest ever goalscorer and is closing in on 100 goals for the club. His renewed partnership with Dean produced 5 goals for the team in only the second match of the season, so we are looking for good things from him this year.

Perry Cutts:

Age: 36 Position: Central Midfielder Nickname: Dynamo Squad Number: 22 Perry is undoubtedly one of the best players to pull on an RBFC shirt and has an engine that seems to run all day. He can often be seen beating 2 or 3 players before releasing the perfect pass, or unleashing a cracking shot. Alongside Badger, these two make an awesome midfield duo that any team in this league would bite their arm off for!!

Simon Dawes:

Age: 33 Position: Defender/Midfielder/Keeper Nickname: Fester Squad number:26 Dawesy is in his second stint with the club after the first one ended shortly after a 30 man brawl. He is Mr Versatility for the club and has played almost every position, including a few run outs in goal, but wherever he plays, he's consistent and reliable.

Elliot Dix:

Age: 25 Position: Winger/Centreback/Striker Nickname: ET/Pub Landlord Squad Number: 24 Easily the most versatile man in the squad. Nominally a winger, Elliott impressed hugely with his performances at centre back, and his penchant for the last-ditch tackle. Work commitments and an inability to tell the time have meant he hasn't played as often as he would have liked, but he is guaranteed to give everything every time he plays. He is desperate to get on the score sheet, and will probably have a more advanced role now that Dawesy and Dan have shored up the defence. Hobbies include playing footy on a Sunday morning whilst absolutely steaming from the night before.

Richard Eggleton:

James Farmiloe:

Paul Gay:

Age: 32 Pos: Defender Nick name: The Lord As fit as anyone in the squad, Paul has grown into the role of left back with much aplomb. Hard in the tackle, and not afraid to get hurt (I'm still trying to get his blood out of my shorts after he cracked his head open), Paul has been a real plus this season. Hates to let anyone past him, and growing more and more comfortable bringing the ball out defence, the Lord is an integral part of a defence which has been over-worked all too often this season. Not sure what his hobbies are, but I'll take a guess at internet stalking and Morris dancing.

Richard Goodchild:

Age: 20 Position: Winger/Forward Nickname: Billy Whizz Squad Number: 19 Rich is possibly the club's fastest player, and constantly unsettles defenders with his pace out wide. He has a great cross and can cut inside and produce a great shot too, which was illustrated when he scored a goal in each of his first three starts for RBFC!!

Chris Hackett:

Age: ??

Position: Defender

Nickname: Engine

Squad Number: ??

Paul Harakis:

Age: 31

Position: Defence

Nickname: Bubble

Squad Number: 2

Club secretary, manager, club comedian, and sweariest man in the world, Sharky has been around Real since the year dot. A right back, his highlight this season was undoubtedly getting sent off 10 minutes AFTER the game had finished. His great strengths are his hang-dog expression, and having Dawesy and Dan positioned next to him, although some have said his main talent is as a linesman. His hobbies include wanton pro-creation (God help us all) and getting slapped around by his missus (probably related to the wanton pro-creation mentioned earlier). The ultimate club man.

Richard Harris:

Age: 28 Position: Striker Nickname: Dumbledore Squad Number: 32

Rich is RBFC's first genuine overseas player, having been born and bred in South African. Like his name-sake, Richard Harris has been a bit of a wizard infront on goal recently, as he's picked up 2 in his last 2 games, but could easily have scored a few more, but for some excellent saves against him.

Nick Hignell:

Age: 24 Position: Winger Nickname: Tyrone/Bulldog Squad Number: 16 Nick scored one of the goals of the season last year, with a run from the edge of his own box, that ended with a thunderbolt into the top corner of the oppo's net. Nick works hard up and down the left flank, whether as fullback or winger, and he is one of the best crosses in the club.

Rob Hipsey:

Age: 22 Position: Defence/Midfield/Forward Nickname: Sicknote/The Hair Squad Number: 4 Rob is another great allround footballer who can use both feet and is capable of doing a job in any role. Alas he gets more injuries than the guy from 'Unbreakable', but when he's fit, he's an asset to any team. Rob has created more goals from set pieces than anyone else for RBFC, and occasionally scores with them too.

Nick Hodson:

Age: ?? Position: Midfield/Striker Nickname: Foghorn Squad Number: ??

Dean Killington:

Age: 26 Position: Keeper/Defence/Midfield/Forward Nickname: Killer/Pinhead Squad Number: 10 Deano is a no-nonsense player, and like Scott, is a living example of a true RBFC devotee. He's arguably been Real Beckenham's best player for sometime now, especially when you consider that he rarely plays in the same position two weeks running. He's the bookie's favourite to take the golden boot this season and already has 2 goals in only one appearance up front, and even that he played with a cold!!

Richard Leahmouth:

Age: ?? Position: Goalkeeper Nickname: ?? Squad Number: ??

Adrian Lewis:

Matt Mansfield:

Danny Mansfield:

A N Other:

Obviously, there's no such player, but if we every forget who played in a game, we can use this name for match details!

Dan Ousby:

Age: 19 Position: Defender/Striker Nickname: The Wig Squad Number: ?? Alongside Dawesy, Dan has proved the basis of the team this year. The biggest bloke in the team (or so his fella tells us) Dan lets nothing past him. A great natural striker of the ball, he could probably play anywhere and do it as well as he has at centre-back. However his partnership with Dawesy is the reason our season has taken a turn for the better. He's even got on the score-sheet this season. His hobbies are distasteful to say the least.

Mick Palmer:

Age: Goalkeeper Position: Defence Nickname: The Munch Squad Number: ??

Gary Patten:

Age: 35 Position: Keeper Nickname: Rude Boy Squad Number: 1 Gary is Real Beckenham's longest standing keeper, not to mention club DJ, MC and all round legend. Gary continues to help run the first team and with not many playing seasons left in him, he's hoping that this year will bring some silverware to the RBFC trophy cabinet at last!!

Ross Pennell:

Age: 27 Position: Defender Nickname: Egg Chaser Squad Number: 25 Ross is shaping up to be the find of the season, despite not having played competitively at 11 side before! He has played a fairly high standard of rugby, and his fitness and will to win is evident, but the progress he has made since his first training session, up to the latest fixture puts him as current favourite for best new signing!

Scott Perkins:

Age: 23 Position: Winger Nickname: Psycho Squad Number: 7 Scottie is one of Real Beckenham's few remaining founder players having played for the team in every season since it started. If you cut him he'd bleed blue and white, and he epitamises the spirit of the club, always giving 100%.

Robert Silcock:

Age: 26

Position: Keeper

Nickname: Silky

Squad Number: 41

Silky is RBFC's newest recruit only having signed in Jan '07, but he's made an instant impact, saving a penalty and making 2 other top class saves on his debut. The game ended in a 3-2 to Real Beckenham, but the team all knew that without those saves the game would have been another draw or may be even a loss!

Greg Smith:

Age: 26 Position: Winger Nickname: Greg The Gift Squad Number: 28 Another of the RBFC new breed, Greg is another great find as he's fit and much like Nick Hignall, he gets up and down the wings well and can deliver a great cross. Greg rarely makes a slack pass during a game, unfortunately, when he does, they usually result in a goal at the other end, hence his nickname.

John Southern:

Age: 26 Position: Defence Nickname: Bowtie Boy Squad Number: 5 Since the departure of fellow "Bowtie Boy" Nick Kirby, who suffered a career ending injury last season, John has given his all and has made himself one of the first names on the team sheet each week. John is a good reader of a game, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time to make a tackle.

John Southworth:

James Sowden:

Age: 33 Position: Centre Midfielder Nickname: Molby Dick Squad Number: 27 One of RBFC's new signings, Jim has great vision and passing ability and can create chances from nothing.

Mark Springett:

Age: 23 Position: Centre Midfield Nickname: Badger Squad Number: 8 Badger, as he is more commonly known, is an old fashioned midfield general. He wins 90% of his tackles, he's good in the air, his vision and passing is up there with the best, and he is also good at breaking into the box and picking up the odd goal. Mark is also currently the first team penalty taker and holds the club record for penalties scored with around 8 goals from the spot.

Ali Taylor:

Age 27ish Pos D Chelsea fan Mr Sarcasm. Came into the team as an emergency bit part player and has been so good we didn’t let him go. Versatile, skillful and mouthy he has contributed with 110% effort in every game and is comfortable at right-back, centre-half or even in midfield. Prepared to lead from the front he has also yet to miss from 12 yards since taking over from Simon as penalty taker this season - which is the only reason he’s near the top of the players ratings.

Alex Tuck:

Steve Venables:

Age: 28 Position: Defence/Forward Nickname: BALL!! Squad Number: 6 Steve is a talented allround footballer who is comfortable anywhere on the pitch. He has made his mark as a lynchpin centreback, but has proved he can score a goal or two when given the chance. Steve, Dave and Dean are rotating the striking duties this season, and Steve is another hot tip for the golden boot.

James Waite:

James Walker:

Age: 23 Position: Goalkeeper/defender/Midfielder Nickname: Boris Squad Number: ??

Jeff Wilson:

Age: ?? Position: Defence/Midfield Nickname: Catholic Squad Number: ??
