A
superb second half performance from Real Gate saw them come out
comfortable 6-1 winners against Orange House at Eccleston on Saturday.
Leading 1-0 at half time, Gate turned the screw on their opposition and
looked likely to score every time they went forward. Orange Houses'
consolation goal coming from a goal mouth scramble following a corner
and was the last kick of the game.
Lingley have left the league just as we
were about to play them. The league are still deciding how to adjust the
table...it'll probably be a case of taking points off the teams that
have played them already.
Right, the sight is kinda updated, I
don't have the records of who played in what games so I can't do the
stats and I dunno who has scored in what games so I can't do the top
scorers either but it's Ste Marsh that's in the lead and will probably
finish there!

After breaking the news about the
sacking of Mark Melia and Dave here on Tuesday, Martin Hudson has launched a scathing attack on Gate’s management.
Hudson, normally known for being
reserved, was not happy at the treatment given to the Ormskirk pair. Hudson said “It’s hardly
an isolated incident at the club is it? It’s been happening every week since the formation of
the club, why now all of a sudden sack a couple of players?” If twenty players had appeared
against The Cricketers, no action would have been taken, clearly they have suffered the managers wrath for all who have withdrawn in the
past.”
Hudson didn’t stop there and offered
more sceptical reasons for the decision. “There are a huge quantity of players now at the
club, sacking is certainly one way of reducing the numbers. Either that or they’re trying to
save the image of the club, coming from Ormskirk’s not a crime, but it does hold you back when your trying to toughen the representation of
the club.”
Gate have yet to make a statement about
the sacking, but Jason Chilton has hinted that setting an example was the motive behind the decision. Martin
Hudson will now wait to see if he faces any punishment from the club over his comments.
