A comfortable win for Real Gate in their final warm up match against a very young Cricketers side.

Gate had a weaker team out than normal, and even had to borrow a couple of players from the cricketers.

It was one of the loaned players from Cricketers that opened the scoring for Gate with a 30 yard wonder strike.

A quote gathered from a Gate player described the goal and player as "Their player who played for us scored a wonder-strike from about 25 yards which he'll never do again cos he's shite"

Gate made it 2-0 when a cute through ball from Matt put Paul Barrow through. Paul ran on to it and lifted it over the advancing keeper - think Tim Howard vs. Eider Gudjohnsen.

2-0 up at half time and coasting really. The cricketers hadn't troubled Gate's makeshift 3 man backline of Schonewille, Anders and Tickle. With Jeff Voller performing admirably in net.

The second half went much the same way, expect Cricketers managed to put 2 on the score sheet. The first...their striker beating Jeff to the ball as the keeper came out. The second a great finish with the outside of the foot into the top corner.

Gate's 3rd goal came from Martin Hudson. Martin passed the ball infrield to Jason who passed it to their/out shite player who tried to pass to someone but it took a ricochet and fell into Martin's path. He slotted it past the keeper from around the penalty spot on the half volley.

Gate's 4th was scored by leading goal-scorer and manager, Matt. The shot took a deflection off the defender before finishing in the bottom left corner.

It was a decent performance from a Gate team missing many players against a team they felt comfortable against even before kick off.

Gate never had to get out of first gear really and will be looking forward to playing them in the league with hopefully, a full strength line up.

Gate:

Jeff Voller; Nick Tickle, Gaz Anders, Phil Schonewille; Martin Hudson, Jason Chilton, Matt Pape, circketers player A; Paul Barrow, Circketers player B;

Goals: Cricketers player B, Martin Hudson, Paul Barrow, Matt Pape
