16th March
Sunday the 30th of March sees the final Baggage Reclaim event at the 12 Bar Club, after which the raison d'etre of this website
changes. Having no more gigs to promote, the website will become mainly focussed on the Baggage
Reclaim Radio Show as well as a depository for the Baggage Reclaim live archive. As for the future- well, I've put in
an application for Lottery Funding, which, if successful will result in a series of Baggage Reclaim (or possibly "BagRec")
concerts in the second half of 2003. The plan is to hold six monthly concerts, all in different, an unusual venues in South
East London. I apologise to my friends who enjoy the West End location of the current Baggage Reclaim- but I quite fancy doing
something for the area I live in, and I'm fed of spending £25 on cabs back from the 12 Bar.
So please keep checking the site.
If you wish to be informed of post 12 Bar BagRec activity please send me an e-mail.
Thanks,
Richard.

4th January 2003-
The rumours have been circulating for a while now, and I'm afraid they're true;- I will be stopping Baggage Reclaim
after the March event...
Why? I'm tired and a bit fed up. I'll tell you more later....
But none of which will stop me going out in a blaze of glory and in typical BagRec eclectic style- with fiery free music from
Ntshuks Bonga, considered improv from John Butcher and Rhodri Davies, mutant hillbilly meets Harry Partch from New York's
Thomas Truax and galvanising Wire/Fall style avant rock from The Heady Vapours (their debut).
21st December 2003-
IMPORTANT
I don't normally advocate the signing of internet petitions- but this is a well organised and relevant one. It concerns the
proposed licensing of live music in England and Wales- and how it will effect all forms of music making. If you value the
kind of music promoted at Baggage Reclaim, The Klinker, the 291 Gallery, Sound323, Lewisham Arthouse, The Centurion etc...then
I urge you to read and sign the petition.
Thanks.
Shortly after Barry Andrews' fantastic solo performance at Baggage Reclaim some photos of the event appeared on a mysterious
American Billy Bragg/Kronstadt related site here.
check
it out yourself.
18th December 2003-
Photos of the Drop performance (their first for 23 years), and details of January's stellar line-up.
5th November 2002-
Another overhaul for the site- I'm trying to make things simpler for you lot, so let me know what you think by writing in
the Guestbook. The links page has been simplified- more categories, more links but no blurb anymore, The Hideous Replicas
page has moved to my own site and can be found here...

3rd November 2002
New on this site;-
Updates to the Radio Listings, full line-ups for the November and December BagRecs, including links and pictures. Plus theres
a whole load of new stuff, including tons of audio/visual streams on the Richard Sanderson pages.
18th October 2002
I have now included a page on the Club Room, the precurser to Baggage Reclaim- it includes a list of all the performers who
played there, old fliers and a reprint of the "notorious" Guardian article about The Departure Lounge...
10th October 2002
Just added to the already fabulous November line-up;- New York singer/songwriter/instrument inventor Thomas Truax, and bonkers
illustrator and textual genius Frank Key. Hurrah!
1st October 2002
Some new stuff on the site- more badges, more pictures (courtesy of Vic Twenty's Adrian Morris) of the June extravaganza.
The playlist from the last radio show is now up, and some sketchy details about the November line-up.
There's now a link to my own homepages should you feel you need to know more about me
Got some great demos through the post recently;- quirky, but moving toy-tronica from Vanishing Breed and brilliantly
sarky Wire-y, Fall-y rock from The Heady Vapours that makes me feel 16 again!...Expect to see both acts at Baggage
Reclaim in the new year. Keep the demos coming. but be please be aware that I'm now booking 4-5 months ahead, and that I can
be a fussy bugger.
My address is-
Richard Sanderson
30 Pascoe Road,
Hither Green,
London,
SE13 5JB.
See you around
-Richard.
