10/1/2004 -
south africa have a good night! |
|
4:17pm
GMT
Ronan performed in South Africa earlier this month, but as
detailed below, he was doing the crowd proud as he performed Kirstenbosch
Gardens, Cape Town on 2nd January.
The evening was great as many waited for Ronan to come on stage
for what was going to be a fantastic show. Yes, Ronan has
performed in South Africa before and has enjoyed being there, and
this time he was back to perform his stuff once again! And
once Ronan did take to the stage the screaming of women couldn't
stop! Ronan in leathers look really cool among those who
screamed, but that was only one thing making the night so special!
As Ronan asked everyone to sing along, they did so and wanted to
do so, but heart-felt where the crowd when Ronan performed 'This
Is Your Song' and then the classic, 'When You Say Nothing At All',
why not? Then hit after hit came as he performed tunes from
all his albums including 'We've Got Tonight', 'I Love It When We
Do', 'If Tomorrow Never Comes', 'Life Is A Rollercoaster', 'The
Long Goodbye' and his forthcoming single release, 'She Believes
(In Me)'. As the show ended the crowd wanted more...and so
by request Ronan re-emerged for a couple more...but where a show
has to end, it has to end and the crowd were pleased to hear that
Ronan would be returning next year - that does sound good!!!
Did any fans see him at any South Africa gig? If so why not
drop us an e-mail and give us a gig review!
Click here now to send one!!! Plus
check out the Tour & Appearances page for
details of where Ronan will be!!!

ronan talks music |
|
6:58pm
GMT
Ronan spoke to the New Zealand Herald recently about what he
thought about Boyzone. It was claimed that he said: "I'm so
over that Boyzone crap." But when asked about this Ronan
said: "It says what? No man, I would never say anything like
that...Well, the swearing, okay. I'm partial to a bit of
that, sure. But I'd never turn around and say Boyzone were
crap. We made some excellent pop singles, we did what we did
pretty well and we had a great craic. But I suppose it's
right in the sense that I've moved on." Ronan was later
asked about he thought of performing music: "...as far as I was
concerned, I always wanted to be a singer. I actually had a goal
in mind. The kids coming through now, they're just after fame for
fame's sake, and they don't care how they go about it. Music's
what I do, it's what I love, but I realised there was no point in
doing it unless I started doing stuff I could stand on top of and
go, 'Look, you may love this, you may hate it, but at least it's
all down to me'." Then he was asked about the departure
between him and Louis Walsh: "Our viewpoints were getting further
and further apart. It felt like a clean break to me and a
chance to start again. And my new manager and my wife persuaded me
to carry on and give it a go. Now I'm glad I did, because I'm
prouder of this stuff than anything I've done before. And I don't
know what else I could have done, apart from go back to Dublin and
get my old job back in the shoe shop." Finally, Ronan was
asked about how it is to be solo: "People ask me how come some
boy-band members go on to have solo careers where others fall by
the wayside. In my case, it's because I'm still hungry. I
still want it, man. I feel like I've got a lot to prove."
