29/4/2003 - louis wishes ronan well

It sparked a major row recently, when Ronan and Louis Walsh (pictured) parted ways over different views of Ronan's career direction which left Ronan storming out without agreement.  Many thought that Louis would just turn his back and forget about it.  But now it seems Louis likes Ronan's new career approach.  Speaking in an interview on Ireland's Late Late Show, Louis wished Ronan all the best: "Ronan is a great guy and I wish him all the best. He wants to try different things.  We saw him going in different directions.  It's the end of an era, but he's a hard worker. Things will work out for him."

24/4/2003 - coming up next!

As the Destination '03 Tour comes to an end, it's time for Ronan fans to look forward to the next exciting thing - yes!  Ronan's new single, 'The Long Goodbye' of course!  And if you don't already know (which many of you should you now), here's the important info:

23/4/2003 - bottoms up!

It sounds crazy but it's true, Ronan has been awarded male Rear Of The Year!  He joins the many other celebrities who have won in previous years including Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Graham Norton and Frank Skinner!  The award ceremony in it's 21st year, will take place at Carlton Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, UK.  Unfortunately, Ronan will not be able to attend and pick up his award as he's on his Destination '03 Tour in the UK!   In the female category, Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton has been named female Rear Of The Year.  We congratulate both for winning this interesting award!     

22/4/2003 - we must remind you...

...that Ronan's new single, 'The Long Goodbye' will be out on 28th April 2003 (less than a week to go!).  This is the first co-written single for Ronan to release as a solo artist.  As ever, the single will be released on 2 CDs and a cassette (details to follow).  CD 1 has a brand new track plus the uplifting, 'Love Won't Work (If We Don't Try)' plus 'The Long Goodbye' video as extra and the limited edition CD 2 has got the German version of 'We've Got Tonight' plus the video of 'Love Won't Work (If We Don't Try)' - so get ready for a whole host of exciting goodies in this release!  Check out our Singles Discography page for all the details.  Don't forget - 28th April 2003 - a date not to be looked over!    

21/4/2003 - hope - the album out now

We mentioned in an earlier news story about a project Ronan was involved in.  The Mirror-War Child Hope Album is out now and money raised from this album will go to children in war-torn Iraq.  The album had been recorded in just 25 days and Ronan has specially recorded the Elvis tune, 'In The Ghetto' for the album.  Other artists to record tunes include, Paul McCartney, Lee Ryan from Blue, Travis, Avril Lavigne, Beverley Knight, George Michael, David Bowie, New Order and Yusuf Islam (formerly known as Cat Stevens).  The full tracklisting is shown below:

20/4/2003 - coming to a week!

Happy Easter, Ronan fans!  Just to remind you that it's only a week away 'til the release of Ronan's new single, 'The Long Goodbye' which will be out on 28th April 2003!  And if you haven't heard what the single's got, we'll here's another reminder!  It will come on 2 CDs and a cassette, the CD details are details briefly below:

- CD 1 contains the title track plus the uplifting tune, 'Love Won't Work (If We Don't Try)' and a brand new track!  Also, the video of 'The Long Goodbye' has been added as extra!

19/4/2003 - up and down!

Last Wednesday (16th April), Ronan made a speedy journey from Glasgow to be present at the 95.8 Capital FM Awards 2003 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, UK.  He was there to make a speech on behalf of the Help A London Child Award which went to Young Carers.  Although he didn't win any awards himself, he was honoured to present this award at the event.  After that, it was back up north for the Glasgow concerts on the following Thursday and Good Friday!

15/4/2003 - ronan in for the capital fm awards!

Ronan has been nominated in two categories for this year's 95.8 Capital FM Music Awards.  He's been nominated for He's been nominated for London's Favourite International Solo Artist and London's Favourite International Single for 'If Tomorrow Never Comes'.  The event will take place tomorrow (16th April) at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, UK and will be presented by DJ Neil Fox.  You can find out more about the event by clicking here.  We wish Ronan all the best for this awards ceremony and hope he wins an award!

14/4/2003 - going for a long walk

Ronan will be doing a sponsored walk for charity in Ireland!  His sponsored walk will raise money for the Marie Keating Foundation in Ireland and Action Cancer in Northern Ireland.  The walk is to start in Giant's Causeway on 17th May and will last for 23 days!  He will be walking approximately 20 miles each day and is due to arrive in Kinsale, Cork on 9th June.

13/4/2003 - reminder about the single!

This Friday (11th April), check out Top Of The Pops on BBC1 (UK) to catch Ronan who will be performing his forthcoming single tune, 'The Long Goodbye'!  Remember, the single is to be released on 28th April 2003!

7/4/2003 - the long goodbye - some more details

It's official!  Ronan's brand new single, 'The Long Goodbye' will be released in the UK on 28th April 2003 (that's exactly 3 weeks away!!!).  The single is to be released on 2 CDs.  The single is being released around the time Ronan's Destination '03 Tour visits the UK!  This song has been co-written by Ronan himself along with Paul Brady.  The country duo, Brooks & Dunn have already had a success with this single.  Ronan is finally going to be releasing it as a single.

So remember, 'The Long Goodbye' will be released on 28th April 2003 - make sure you make a note of it!!!  And of course, catch the video of 'The Long Goodbye' by voting number 933 (also, check out 'Love Won't Work (If We Don't Try), number 628).  We'll be giving more details as we get it - but this is a start!

6/4/2003 - ronan is ireland's sexist man!

It has been revealed that Ronan has been voted the most sexist man in Ireland!  The Social and Personal's Ireland's Sexist Man awards ceremony took place in the Four Season's Hotel yesterday night.  Upon accepting the award, Ronan said: "I'm very honoured to accept this prestigious award and I'm delighted to be Ireland's Sexiest Man."

Ronan was given a huge bottle of wine!  Coming as runner-up for the award was country singer, Daniel O' Donnell (picture source: Showbiz Ireland).

3/4/2003 - destination '03 comes to the uk!

It's April, and that means Ronan will be doing his Destination '03 Tour in the UK again this year!  This will be his last tour before he spends time out to record a new album.  The tour will begin Birmingham on 9th April (Wednesday) and will visit London, Sheffield, Nottingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Belfast.  Check out the Tour & Appearances page for all the details of the forthcoming tour and for those going to the shows, enjoy the nice and have fun!!!
