Now that 'Ronan', the first Ronan album is well and truly a success, Ronan is ready to write his second studio album! The
album will see a more experienced Ronan Keating as he described when speaking to Worldpop: "It's going great. I'm more
confident than I was on the first album". There will be
contributions from writers on the first album including former New
Radicals front man, Gregg Alexander who along with Rick Nowels wrote Ronan's first big single, 'Life Is A Rollercoaster'.

- ronan to do pogues cover version |
|
8:12pm GMT

Ronan Keating will be recording a newer version of 'Fairytale Of New York', the popular hit first released by The Pogues
and Kirsty MacColl (pictured left) in 1987 which
featured on The Pogues' album 'If I Should Fall From
Grace With God'. The song became a Christmas hit in that year scoring a UK No.2 position. The Pogues front man,
Shane MacGowan gave permission for the song to be redone by Ronan despite Ronan's desire to alter and remove some of the
words from the original song's lyrics. Original words like 'arse' and 'faggot' are not to feature in the Ronan version
because Ronan felt it would be offensive with respect to his target audience. Maire Brennan from the Irish folk group,
Clannad (pictured above left) famous for their theme
tune to 'Harry's Game', will be singing duo with Ronan. MacGowan will also be working more with Ronan with the prospect of a new song. The
song is expected to feature on the next single from Ronan Keating, 'The Way You Make Me Feel' due for release later this
year.
