16/10/2000 - shuffle of tour dates to fit in elton

5:10pm GMT

The first three dates of Ronan's big tour starting this October are being rescheduled so that Ronan can perform with top solo artist, Elton John. Ronan told the Irish Star: "I have been asked to perform with Elton John at Madison Square Gardens in New York and these dates clash with the start of my tour. I'm sorry for changing the dates and I hope you can all come along to the new dates."

The rescheduled dates are as follows:

21st Oct - Liverpool Empire, Liverpool -> 21st Nov - Apollo, Manchester

22nd Oct - City Hall, Newcastle -> 20th Nov
23rd Oct - Playhouse, Edinburgh -> 19th Nov

 

14/9/2000 - ronan releases his 'autobiography'

29/8/2000 - with ronan in the bathtub is a favourite

Britney SpearsA MORI poll conducted recently in association with British Gas questioned women as to who they would like to be in a bathtub with.  Out of 1,000 questioned, 18% agreed that Ronan Keating was their choice.  Amongst those beaten to the tub included top footballer, David Beckham.  On the female side, Britney Spears (pictured left) was the men's favourite.

 

10/8/2000 - ronan to have second child

Yvonne, wife of Ronan Keating, is expecting a second child in February of next year. Ronan and Yvonne already have a son, Jack who was born in March 1999. Ronan was delighted saying that he and Yvonne are "absolutely thrilled we are going to have a little brother or sister for baby Jack". Congratulations to Ronan and Yvonne!

1/7/2000 - silver clef piano prize for ronan from ronan

Ronan Keating won a respectable prize at this year's Silver Clef Awards at the Inter-Continental Hotel on Park Lane in London.  In an auction at the event he bid £25,000 to earn the piano that once belonged to top star, George Michael.  But as soon as Ronan had won the piano he decided it should go to Nordoff Robbins, a charity specialising in music therapy:  "I'd like to donate that piano I've just bought to the local Nordoff Robbins school."  On applause, Ronan joked: "It's only because I don't have enough room for it in my house."  Other award winners that night included the songwriting masters, Burt Bacharach and Hal David and the successful band, The Eurythmics.

15/6/2000 - ronan credited by paul brady

Paul BradyRonan is being credited on a new single from famous artist, Paul Brady. Speaking to Ananova, Brady said "I've known Ronan for a while and his manager suggested we work together. He's a nice guy. You never know how you're going to get on when you work, but it was a genuine collaboration". The single titled 'The Long Goodbye' got its title from Ronan.

12/6/2000 - departure from westlife

WestlifeWestlife, one of the biggest all-male pop acts of recent years is to see one of its founders go. Ronan Keating helped manage the band of five and to see them shape into one of the most successful music artists. Such was the overwhelming success of Westlife, they beat management in the form of Ronan at the 1999 Britannia 'Record Of The Year'. But it has been announced that Ronan will leave the responsibility and Louis Walsh who co-managed Westlife will now take up the full post. Ronan felt that his schedule was too busy to fit in any time to manage Westlife and said that he still kept in contact with the group.

26/5/2000 - ronan to release ronan

Ronan's debut album is almost ready and is to be titled 'Ronan'. It will be released on the 31st July 2000 in the UK just after Ronan's single release of 'Life Is A Rollercoaster'. 22/5/2000 - many crowd to see ronan at music store

Dr Fox with Ronan KeatingYesterday, many people crowded Oxford Street, London, UK outside the brand new HMV as Ronan opened the store! He, along with Capital FM's Dr. Fox (pictured left with Ronan at last year's Smash Hits Awards) greeted the audience and Ronan performed his new single, 'Life Is A Rollercoaster' which will be released on the 10th July 2000. Ten lucky people also got the chance to meet Ronan as he did some signings. But overall, it was a perfect day!

 

21/5/2000 - new music see ronan!

Ronan KeatingIf you happen to be passing by Oxford Street, London today don't miss out on Ronan's big appearance at the street's new HMV music store. The new store will be opened by the big Boyzone lead member who's going solo for a while with a forthcoming new single and album this summer!

Ronan will be releasing a new single titled, 'Life Is A Rollercoaster' on the 10th July 2000 in the UK. This is an upbeat and summery song written by former New Radical Gregg Alexander and Rick Nowels. We will be giving more details on the single soon. So watch this space!
