Isle Of Wight Festival
Isle Of Wight Festival, June 15th 2003
When I heard that Bryan was going to play at the Isle Of Wight Festival I couldn't believe it... Such a mytical venue, with names like Hendrix, Who, Doors, Dylan in its past! And the Island itself, which everyone had described to me as a beautiful place... In short, it sounded just like the dream gig! And I'm so happy we managed to go, as it was very special indeed :).
We left for the Island on Sunday early morning, after a fun night in London... (note to self: make sure you get some proper sleep before a BA gig next time!!!)... we were knackered even before leaving, but of course we knew it was worth it, so somehow we managed to get to Waterloo, and onto the right train.
After a lovely trip on the catamaran, we arrived at Ryde and looked for our hotel. It was a fantastic place - we even discovered that the Rolling Stones stayed there in the 60s! :)
We then headed to Newport, through the lovely countryside. Once there, I got a call from Adrian and he met us at the gate - thanks a BUNCH for keeping those beautiful spot for us Adrian!!! :) When we got to the front barrier, we met lots of webboarders once again :).
The music started soon after... some acts were good (John Butler was amazing on the guitar - and quite good looking too! ;)), some, er... not really, but it was big fun anyway. It was the typical festival atmosphere: everyone lying on the grass enjoying the sun!

Anna and I soaking up the Festival atmosphere :)
Yes, for once it didn't rain... it was a FANTASTIC sunny hot day! :)

It all started in a nice relaxed way...

Then things got hotter...

...and hotter! :)
Things also got a little scary during the Darkness' performance... The singer strongly believed he was still in the 80s (he even had a zebra-like striped catsuite, a la David Lee Roth!!!) and his fans seemed to agree with him... They started jumping one against the other and surfing the crowd... luckily nobody got hurt, but it did get a bit nasty. Nothing better during the following act, Hell Is For Heroes... urgh.

Counting Crows
Counting Crows, the last group before big BA, were actually quite good and nice - and their fans were nice too, for a change!
I couldn't enjoy them fully as the heat had started to knock me down a bit by then... being constantly pushed back by some not-so-nice girl on my right didn't help! Thanks for those sweet baddies who worried about me :) - luckily, by the time Bryan was on I was back in shape ;).

Anyway... enough words now, let's see the guys in action!
