With all the excitement of TSD I seem to have left out my updates SORRY
anyway The Singing Detective premiered Jan 17th with mixed reviews. The good news is that it may have found a distributer I will keep you posted on this.
Also there is a section on TSD in the Febuary 3rd addition of People Magazine
So Go Get It!
Now for some not so good news. Early reports say that Robert Downey Jr. does not play a cameo role in the musical Chcago which is out in the cinema now
This information may not be correct so as soon as I see the film I will fill you in.

There was a piece on writer, director, producer John Adnet in yesterday's Extra. Apparently he's the man who put Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Gertz in Less Than Zero. They showed a very brief scene with no dialogue from the film, and according to John Adnet, Uma Thurman and Julia Roberts both tried out for Less Than Zero.

Mad Max 4 - Fury Road Director George Miller is quoted as saying in an interview with First Magazine that "We've got a long way to go with the casting but Mel has an idea to put Robert Downey Jnr, who I adore by the way, in a role" If Downey does get a part in this film he'll be starting in May 2003 when production is scheduled to start at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia
and, in Namibia on location with a budget of £52 million - The Daily Telegraph.

Robert Downey Jr. has been officially released from parole related to drug charges, The authorities released him on Tuesday at midnight. Note: Back in July, a judge dismissed drug charges against Downey and ended his probation after he successfully completed a year-long drug rehab program. Now, his parole has ended as well. - LA Times.

Robert Downey Jr. is still close with his estranged wife, singer Deborah Falconer. The pair is hosting Flaunt magazine's fourth-anniversary
party at The W Hotel in Union Square tomorrow where Deborah will be performing some of her songs.
The 17th American Cinematheque award dinner was celebrated in Beverly Hills December 6 2002, honoring Denzil Washington. Jamie Foxx hosted the show, and Tom Hanks made the awards presentation. Other celebrities who participated in the event included Robert Downey Jr. as well as : Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Ethan Hawke, Keanu Reeves, and Bruce Willis. There were also video
messages from Mel Gibson, and Spike Lee. Unfortunately this tribute to Washington will only be broadcasted in America on the AMC cable channel in March 2003.

Access Hollywood has reported that Downey has a cameo appearance in the upcoming film Chicago which he was due to star in.

Robert Downey Jr. is working on a song called "Diamonds and Gold" with his friend Moogy Klingman. Downey wrote the music and Moogy wrote the words.

Robert Downey Jr. finished his yearlong stay in rehab for drugs in July earlyer this year. To celebrate his soberness, Mel Gibson bought him a BMW motorbike and presented it to him on the set of The Singing Detective, which Downey finished filming in the summer.
