John 'Tumor' Farnestock (Tumor being his nickname) is the dreadlocked bass played for Amen, having joined the band in March 1999, having previously been in the band Snot with Sonny Mayo. He was also in the band Kiddie Porn, along with Shannon Larkin. He also does the backing vocals for Amen, as well as playing bass. John has a grindcore background, although he likes to listen to massive Attack, classic '70s rock and jazz. He grew up on the east coast of America, in Washington DC, and he has a criminal record, which led to the band having to cancel a tour of Canada. He is an only child and first started playing the bass guitar after hearing Kiss' 'Alive' at a cousin's house. He helped to compile the 'Strait Up' tribute album to Lynn Strait, and co-wrote the lyrics for the song 'Requiem' by Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor, which features on the album. |
