In 1997 I came over and joined Rottingdean Village Youth Club as youth secretary, at that time the club had one team of under 11s, Also it had about 10-15 children of all ages below this. We can now boost that we have over 100 members to our club, hoping to expand this yearly. We are always looking for new players for every age group from under 15s down to under 8s with younger children training and always on the look out for Managers.
Our club has a nice pavilion with changing rooms, showers, licensed bar and a cafe. We have two full sized pitches and a dedicated small pitch.
Now at the end of the 99/00 season my team are the under 14s, we have won our league and will be promoted to the first division of the Sussex Sunday League, good luck lads for the coming season.
Our club with the help of some dedicated Managers and helpers have now got teams in every age group up to under 14s, with the under 9s & 12s having two teams in these age groups. The under 12s Village team did well this season coming runners up in their league so they also have won promotion, our under 13s did well managing to get to the finals of the challenge cup, but ended losing 4-2 but this was a really good game.
Our aim is to offer football to as many children as possible with out holding trials any lad that comes to our club will play football, we also boast one of the lowest fees around in our area.
