ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY OF GIBRALTAR

Quiz Night - Corks Wine Bar; Tuesday November 6th, 7.30 p.m. £5 including a plate supper

Some 32 people came along to the Haggis and Wine tasting evening, and experienced "Mutton", "Spicy", "Vegetarian", and "Pork" Haggis. Maximum possible thanks must go to Colin McHard who sweated for hours in advance cooking some 18 kilos of varying haggi (feel free to correct my grammar there); while the rest of the committee swanned around sampling the various vintages on offer.

As a bit of a change for this time of year, and as the earlier one went down so well, we're having another Quiz Night at Corks Wine Bar as our next event. Your quizmaster had better remain anonymous (in case I get beaten up after last time), and we'll be going for a vaguely "Guy-Fawkes" and "blowing up politicians" theme (although Carole Sharrock has already refused to do her well-known impression of a Roman Candle).

Those who have been before know to bring their appetites with them as Alistair always does us proud - those who haven't been before - well, it's about time you learned what you were missing!

Following the Quiz Night will be the Saint Andrew's Ball (venue still under discussion, so don't expect any surprises) on December 1st; so book two dates in your diaries, and we look forward to seeing you all on the 6th November!

Remember, Remember, the 6th of November;

Gunpowder Treason and Plot;

There'll be great food from Corks'

And a quiz (of a sort)

So get yourselves there like a shot!

Regards
