Scottish Arctic Club

Expeds

The Scottish Arctic Club is a social club where people, mainly living in Scotland and who have travelled or lived in the Arctic, or are interested in polar affairs, can meet together and communicate with one another.

Each November, and at varying venues, we meet for an informal Annual Supper, where we swap stories about where we have been exploring and discuss where we hope to go in the future. A few slides are shown and maps are spread out on the floor.

To quote the Constitution, the object of the Club is 'to provide opportunities for exchanging information on research and travel in high latitudes, to encourage competent expedition practice, and to maintain good relations with governments which administer Arctic territories'.

In addition, each June, the Club has a Solstice Walk and over-night stay somewhere in the Highlands.

New members are welcome: there is a hefty annual fee of £3. This is a Club for people of all ages and both sexes who have a committed interest in the Arctic and who have probably already travelled there.
