Scott has again signed a contract with his Swedish team, Smederna of Eskiltuna, where he will ride alongside Billy Hamill, Mark Loram, Magnus Zetterstrom and new signings this year Paul Hurry and Carl Stonehewer. Scott said he was delighted to once again have the opportunity to ride for the club and was determined to improve still further this year. He was disappointed to miss such a large part of the 1999 season due to injury, but believed that Smederna would mount a serious challenge for the Swedish Elite League title in the new millennium.

Scott has also signed for a new Polish club this year. Having ridden for Gniezno in 1999 he has signed for Leszno for the 2000 season, he will be a team-mate Leigh Adams.

Scott has said he would like to have his British Elite League future sorted out in the near future to enable him to prepare properly for the year 2000 season. He is still an Ipswich asset but with the future of the club in a little doubt he is not sure where he will be riding in 2000. He has said though, that he thoroughly enjoyed his season at Poole in 1999 during which he improved dramatically. Scott was disappointed that injury brought a premature end to his season and that Poole were unable to capture a trophy. He felt that if he and Magnus had not been injured at the same time then at least one piece of Silverware would have found its way to Wimbourne Road.

Scott's broken elbow is now well on the mend, it's still a bit stiff but with regular exercise is improving all the time. The best news of all is that he will be fully fit by the start of the new season
