Lies, Lies (will Jeffrey never Learn)

"You're nothing but a goddamn liar"

"What the hell do you mean." He shouted.

"You told me you'd sussed the place. You'd had a good look round. No alarms, No dogs, no trip wires. The security's crap, you said. My auntie Ethel could Break in there, you said. It's waiting for you...."

"So what went wrong?" Jeffrey asked, as innocently as he could in the Circumstances. "What went wrong? What went bloody right, mate! You said, after half five There'd be no one at the factory but that old, half-witted night watchman.

Go In at the back, you said. Over that back wall. Oh yeah. So I drove up, parked up the road, walked up to the wall, and found a sodden tramp sleeping, right where the wall was damaged. Anyway I threatened 'I'm, moved 'I'm on, cursing and swearing. Climbed the wall, heaved myself over. Never told me about the broken glass, did you?

Of course there's no alarms or wires - they don't bloody need them! There's six foot of broken glass set in concrete instead. I cut myself to bloody ribbons. My wailing wakes the Watchman, he called the plod and they arrived while I was still howling.

They took me to the local nick and here I am next time you see me it'll be in Bleeding Parkhurst. And don't expect me to keep stum forever Jeffrey. Unless we can come to some sort of financial arrangement...

A NEW EXPERIENCE

So this is it! I'm really going to do it- no going back. My veryfirst day on a racetrack in a real sports car. Some friends had bought me, as a birthday present, the opportunity to drive (race!) round Silverstone in a top notch, powerful sports car.

I'd looked forward to it for months, and finally the time had arrived. I put on my crash helmet, and got into the driving seat of the white Peugeot 306,with it's souped-up engine. The instructor got in beside me.I felt a bit nervous, but once I switched the engine on and the car came to life I felt fine.

I drove out of the paddock and joined the circuit.Right.Great.Foot down.Build up speed.Oh shit - what was that?? As I approached the first bend at 60MPH,a blue car flashed past me at atremendous rate, tyres squealing as he rounded the bend.Hells bells, should I be driving like that? 2 laps later:

I've got the hang of it now, 80MPH on the corners where I only did 50 to start with. This is more like it .The instructor's shouting at me though

" Don't cross your hands! Change gear! Watch the bend! Break now!Faster!" Another blur flashes by. How can they go so fast?? Foot down, here comes the straight. I'm doing 100 - gosh it seems slow. Last lap Oh this is it. Fantastic! Watch out Schumacher here I come, gunnin' for ya!

The bends are flashing by, what wonderful speed. Now hit the beaking point, this is a sharp one. The instructor's not shouting -I must be doing better. Foot down,100,120,130,140MPH. Easy. another bend - round we go. Whoa! Bit of a slide there. just correct it, Whoo -o -oo oh shit!! Christ correct it - sliding oh hell no what oh....................... Christ.........BANG!!!!!

12 Hours later: I am lying in bed.I must be,though i can't feel anything. I try to move - oww!! I can't move. My sight is blurred. There's a nurse nearby. She comes closer. She looks serious. I can't bear the thought of what she might say.........

To be continued (one day)
